TAD Custom Cue (Early #2XX)

Hello all!

I recently picked up this Tad Kohara Cue from the original owner. He’s as older gentleman in his 70s. I have documentation from him. He believes he bought it sometime between 72-76. I’m looking to gauge the value of it. I’ve got a lot of information from the owner as well as confirmations on details from a few other forums, as well as cue makers in my area.

Details

Early to Mid 70s Tad Kohara Cue

Made to a custom order of Birdseye Maple.

The Serial # is in the 200s

(72-76)

19oz

2 Shafts 13 1/2MM

Ivory Ferruls

Original French Champion Leather Tips (Confirmed Originals with Red pads)

It was made by Tad Sr. In Stanton, Ca with the Original Case.

It is a beautiful cue, but currently trying to decide if it’s something that I want to shoot with, keep as a collection piece, or sell. Thank you for your input.

If you have an approximation of value, that would be much appreciated!

I would think you have some idea as to value since you bought it. Maybe you paid $3,000 only to find out it is a $1,000 cue or maybe you paid $300 and found out it is a $1,500 cue. I would think the original owner had a little knowledge as far as value and asked roughly an amount close enough to be content with the sale. You can send the cue number to is son Fred to get more info.

Absolutely, I have an idea of value. But it doesn’t hurt to ask the thousands of people in this forum what they think? 1000 minds are better than one :)

You know what they say about
opinions?
everyone has one
what you. paid is probably about right
by the way
what did you pay?

Would ya able to picture of yourself holding the cue with your face in the picture? Or else video live chat to verify the cue n yourself?

Because usually it’s red flag to people if it’s new account. Also more n likely it might be a scammer try to fishing for buyer.
I totally understand that. And absolutely would’ve if I was selling. I was asking for approximate value. Never in the post do I say that it is for sale.
I say “It is a beautiful cue, but currently trying to decide if it’s something that I want to shoot with, keep as a collection piece, or sell. Thank you for your input.

If I end up listing it for sale, I most definitely will do what I need to verify I have the cue in my possession.

everything I have seen with the Tads-
$$ 2,000.00 ,maybe a little more because 1 owner status cue"

Why interrogate a guy asking a couple questions?

Christ that’s so bad.

I’ll leave it at that……

Wait, no I won’t, read on:

A embarrassment it’s what that is, believe me it’s not that important.

That cue is a nice Tad by all appearances and it’s worth 2.0-2.5K depending on who, what and when.

Was that hard?

Did that perpetuate some fraud?

Who was the victim answering a simple question?

It’s a God damned shame how twisted up some people have became.

Fatboy

I contribute a lot of time and advice here, and this post is just that. If I offended religious people, sorry. I’m not a PC milk drinker and that’s that!
