Just acquired this from a friend

I played with this cue few sets today and this is a super monster player.

Butt weight 16.07 oz
Shaft 1 - 3.56oz at 13mm
shaft 2 - 3.62 oz at 13mm
Butt cap seem to be delrin
Ivory ferrules and Joint
3x8/12
58.25"

Nice patina on that Tad. I bet it could tell some awesome war stories if it could talk.:grin:
 
Joint pin should be 3/8x12. Nice looking cue, TAD didn't stain very many BEM players.
 
You gotta get rid of that thing. you ever miss a ball with that and you'll never be able to blame it on the cue!

Thanks Lazzerus,Mamono, Sam and Jimmy. This cue has lowest deflection of any ivory ferrule cues i have played till date. Had i not bought my South West it would never leave me. Too bad i cannot afford too many cues.:embarrassed2:

Tad Cue

I was told by few people how tad did this. He used a torch to char the wood to get the stained wood effect.

Wow, I'm surprised someone else knows. I thought it was a super secret, the cat's out of the bag!
 
Tad Cue

Did you take the bumper off to see if their is number stamped ? I own 5 of Tad`s cues.

I also have a "stained" Tad, but with his standard stainless 5/16-18 joint with slotted MOP diamonds in ebony windows in the butt sleeve, and heard about Tad charring the wood rather than staining the wood. I first learned about this back around '79 when I purchased the cue from him.
 
Tad Cue

This Tad was made in the early 70`s to mid or late 70`s. I have the first two cues from his cue brochure. Tad`s later cues don`t have delrin between the wrap butt piece.

Actually, this cue is post-1983 because it has a logo. TAD continued to use many of his 70's design elements in his cues through the 80's.
