The bracket comes in either painted black or polished and is supplied with all hardware and thread locker. You can mount this on your crosslide and at the top of the heastock. As you can see in the pictures you can just swing it out of the way. I will sell just the bracket or the bracket and indicator arm. These are cheap holders but work good. I will need to know what holder you have as the mounting may vary if you just want the bracket. Here are some pictures, I am a horrible photographer.:o The prices will be as follows.

Just bracket and hardware
Black or Polished 1 $35.00 shipped For 2 $65.00 shipped

Bracket and indicator holder
$60.00 Shipped

Bracket indicator holder, and import indicator
$80 shipped either black or polished

And ps....I know that lathe is filthy:embarrassed2:
I have 3 polished left in stock and ready to ship

 I just looked into what thread the flexible holders are and they work too.....like the nova. I also have an adjustable mount for an indicator on the side of the headstock to measure carriage travel. And on my cue making lathe I have a dro on the crosslide. I plan to have pics up of these soon.

Nice little jig you made there. Obviously my magnetic base doesn't work
on the aluminum bed of the Deluxe.

If you made some to fit the head stock of the Deluxe, you might also
make a few sales as well. A lot of Deluxes out there.

I think hightower makes a holder for the deluxe but I'm not sure. If he doesn't then I will make one but if he does I would be stepping on his toes. Maybe he could chime in and let us know

You know, I bought 2 different set ups from Chris. The one that attaches to the bed is obvious. The other has a bunch of different doo dads and I had not used it yet and I bet you are correct. I am going down stairs and check it. It probably fits the cross slide but don't know if it can attach to the head stock.

I know that some time ago, someone posted pics of his set up (may have been Kenny Koo) that attached to the head stock.

A simple reminder, to remove anything that can somehow become loose and fall into a chuck or the path of a moving tool.Preventing an accident is better than resting a broken ego or bruised eye.
As said before, Safety is No Accident
Take care everyone, and a thumbs up for a very helpful device.

I don't make one for the Deluxe headstock. The one I make mounts to the cross-slide. People have screwed a flat piece of metal to the top of my Deluxe headstocks in the past to handle the magnetic base. I can see one advantage of your headstock design over the cross-slide mount and that is you won't have to remove your tool post to check run out. Your headstock mount would work on the older deluxe if they tapped two 10-32 holes in the aluminum top plate. The newer Deluxe has larger t-slots and would need a mount made to fit.

I didn't have a magnetic base when I made this bracket, but It was free as I made It from a small block of aluminum that I had on hand at the time. This is was taken before I mounted It but what I ended up doing was tapping one hole, and surface milled the bottom with a shoulder/lip that butts up to the front edge of the top plate of the headstock, and with the bolt in place locks the bracket in a fixed position. The indicator It's self can be rotated, and even when in reading position is clear of the jaws.

There's many ways to do It. The top plate of the lathe already has 2 holes tapped upfront with hex bolts, so to mount a magnetic base like mentioned just utilize those and mount a piece of flat metal to the top. May need longer screws, although would save from drilling and tapping.

Like Chris mentioned the bracket in this post could be screwed directly to the top plate by tapping 2 holes, or possibly a plate with T-slots could be made to mount to the top to Provide more adjust-ability. For that matter I could see a whole new top plate for the lathe with T-slot milled into as being a neat upgrade.

Could also make a bracket that clamps to the sides with a plate that runs over the top, and a wing nut to remove or attach It quickly.

There are many ways to go about It, I suppose there are several other ways as well.

I'm not sure how many people would be comfortable drilling and tapping into there deluxe headstock....while its a simple process if you've done it it can be a daunting task to some. Your mount looks good cue crazy. And thank you chris for the positive feedback. That means alot comeing from you. Chris does your newer deluxe have t-slots? If you don't mind I could make a bracket for it if it has t slots. But as stated before I don't want to step on your toes if you already offer such a thing.....But to anyone comfortable with drilling and tapping chris is correct my bracket would work

Yes my new deluxe has T-slots but they are larger. Your current bracket might work if you just made some larger square nuts and longer screws to go in place of the smaller ones that fit the existing one and just slide it in one T-slot.

All orders shipped and on their way. I have 3 still available with more matieral on the way to make another 20. Thanks everyone
