geez, i must be losing my mind
last nite at league, my first shot
i was jabbering away with someone
pulled my cue out and grabbed an unfinished shaft my mistake
didn't even know it
take my first shot, and hear a funky sound
so, i look at my tip
WHAT TIP???
NO TIP
NO FERRULE
just the bald end of the shaft
if that wasn't bad enough
i chalked it before i shot!!!!!!
BTW
i made the shot :D
he broke

with all due respect Dave, how could he? I mean, it'd be the same as a miscue pretty much...wouldn't it? chances are you'd miss the shot by doing this, Brent just got lucky enough to make it :) I'm sure Brent changed the shaft after realizing his mistake, so I see no problem in doing this....but maybe its just me? a run is a run, no matter how you start off IMO...as long as you don't make an intentional foul, but I've never even seen a rule pertaining to something like this.

Because he didn't use a leather or synthetic leather or fibrous tip. Of course, nobody except a two-bit nit would say anything about it other than a few chuckles.

that's a good point. never thought of it. it's one of those "fun" leagues. he was too busy laughing anyway. we all were
