talk about someone being lucky. A friend of mine named Tommy who deals in antiques and collectables went to a garage sale/ estate sale. did not really see anything he wanted and asked if they had anything else for sale. the man said come look in the basement. there in the finished basement was an original gold crown II that had been well taken care of. the table was originally set up in an old pool room named cue tyme which has long since been closed. so my friend tom asks the man how much he wants for it. the man says he can have it for $300.00 along with all the accessories including the wall rack to hold 12 cues. Plus all the balls still in their original box. So tom pays the man the $300.00 and then pays the local room owner $250.00 to take it apart and move it for him. table was in perfect condition. the rails were like brand new. i tested the rails for tommy. what a bargain he got. now to find a place to put it to play on it. what do you think. was it a great deal or what...................................................mike

Great story. My dad caught a roll like that in 1969. Mike Eufemia's poolroom went belly-up and had to sell all of the Gold Crown I tables. My dad was a friend of Mike's, and my family was about to move from our apartment in Queens, NY, to a house on Long Island, so he bought one of them. Refelted and installed, with a new set of balls, and four excellent housesticks, for $900. Mike sure took care of my dad on that occasion! Even today, that table, which sits in my dad's basement, still plays great.

Well Mike, today is your friend's lucky day. I just happen to have a brand new house with exactly the amount of space available to store his pool table. I'll even see to it that it is recovered at no cost to your friend and I will use it daily so that it is kept in the best condition and will never be neglected. Furthermore, I will not charge your friend any fee for these services and he may arange for scheduled visits at least once a month!!!!! IMO..you can't beat that!
