I would be shocked if you can get genuine V10 for $9. That’s probably around what a dealer buying in bulk is paying wholesale.
I have seen knock off V10 and it sucks.
The newer V10 does have a QR code on the back that allows you to check if it’s real.
I have seen it on Temu.

I've also seen the "is it legit?" Taom for approx. $10.
If you buy the expected knock-off $10 then find out it's not up to spec, then you by the legit Taom for $20, now you're into it for $30.
Buy the legit Taom and save the $10 you would waste on the fake.

Well, until the knock-off swindlers figure out they should price it at $18.50, and they catch all the buyers who figure it's legit but want to save $1.50. I think Ebay/Temu are not the right place to buy Taom.

The Pagulayan chalk is supposedly made by Taom.

The Pagulayan chalk is definitely made by Taom. I cannot tell a difference between the green Pagulayan and the V10, but perhaps I’m not astute enough to catch the distinction.
I love it for the square shape with all the good properties of V10.
There is also TAOM V10 Snooker chalk that a slightly different color. Of all places, Walmart carried it and I bought 4 pieces for $11 each. Comes on its own plastic case and 3 of my pals bought the chalk from me. We all carry it as a backup in our pool cases. It seems to have a softer grit, IMO but it’s only for backup, along with my favorite chalk due to its cube shape, Pagulayan. Oval chalk is just a horrible design but V10 lasts so long I haven’t had to use a different
piece of chalk for 18 months. Gosh, what a bargain if and when you sparingly brush apply TAOM chalk to your cue tip.

I suck at searching the forums, but I’m sure we’ve discussed the Walmart Taom V10 before. I have never seen genuine V10 in that colour, nor can I find “snooker” V10 on Taom’s website.

Don’t take this the wrong way but you aren’t very expert at searching the Internet either.
Prior to seeing the Walmart listing, I felt like you but I have a hunch Walmart isn’t likely
to offer a counterfeit TAOM chalk for $11. So my gut told me it was real but I also made
sure the chalk actually existed. Sure nuf, the chalk looks legit to me and was inexpensive.

For $9 i would say it's fake.
I bought Kamui tips off ebay once and ran the serial number and it said fake. I contacted the seller and they refunded me. Either they bought it stupidly or knowing it was fake and trying to get away with it. It looks like they bought it off a knockoff site. They then took the label off of them and were selling them unlabeled on ebay.
I once bought a bulk of iPhone cables to sell and it turned out to be fake off ebay.

Can anyone explain how a QR code on the back of a piece of chalk allows customers to check that it is the legit product? I mean, if I were a counterfeiter, I would buy one piece of legit V10 and copy that QR code and put it on the back of my contraband pieces. Am I missing something here?
Same way people selling a Rolex will make a big deal that it comes with papers. If they can fake an entire watch they sure as hell can fake the papers lol

The short answer is when you scan it, Taom's website says whether it's legit or not. That's not to say that someone might figure out how to make them look more authentic, but it's a good first step.
