As title suggests, I am looking for a taper bar. Preferably for a taig lathe but even if someone has a video or instructions on how to build one.
I am in UK if that helps.
Any input would be gratefully received.
Cheers guys.

Are you looking for a shaft taper bar or a Butt (straight) taper bar? The shaft one being adjustable every 2 inches the but one being a simple bar at an angle.

Just a straight bar. Thanks
you can make one yourself, easily

i have 2 diff taper bars for cutting in my bflys, buttsleeve & forearm.
taper bar for shafts is a 3/4" thick pc of delrin
any straight material you can bolt down, clamp down, will work

It is simple to make a straight taper by just off-setting the tailstock. I hope this is helpful.

I try to never assume... I assume that you do that too. :speechless:

You could also have a local machine shop cut you a taper bar from a piece of aluminum.
You'll need some mounting brackets and a sturdy base.
The delrin option is nice, as long as you don't plan on changing tapers on a regular basis, as it takes quite some time to set it up.
I'm having a local company make an extra bar for my taper shaper. I have 1 long taper groove and a 3c groove on one side and a jump and break shaft on the other side.
I don't remember what I payed for it right now, but it wasn't that much..
