TAR 1 Pocket matches?

I realize that 9 ball/10 ball with big names will attract the most viewers...

But I was wondering if there is enough interest in 1 pocket to put together a few matches that include some of the US players... Especially some of the young guns, that play that exciting more aggressive style...

Shannon Daulton
Gabe Owens
Nick Vita
Cliff Joyner
Scott Frost
Shawn Putnam
Corey Deuel
Alex Pagulayan

I know there are many more, but these were a few I could think of....

Also some 1 pocket matches with

Efren Reyes
Jose Parica
and many other upper echelon players would be great in the TAR format....

Just a few ideas for the boys at TAR to kick around....
I do realize that profits could be lower on these matches, but I think if they let the right people know about these matches, they could sell enough DVD's to make it worthwhile....

I would buy in for sure.

My top pick would be Tony Chohan 1p. That guy is alot of fun to watch play, he is ultra aggressive.

Is Tony Chohan the guy who won this years Open?

If so, Tony Vs Nick would be a great match..... last 2 years U.S. Open winers
and both very aggressive

Tony chohan would destroy nic vita. Frost and cliff are good matches for tony C.

Why do you say that?

Didn't Nick win the US OPEN?

Nics a great player, but in no way shape or form is he gonna gamble with any of those three playing even 1 pocket he'll match up but playing even is out of the question

I have never seen Tony play... I have seen Gabe, Shannon, Scott, Cliff and Jose, and Nick all play in person......

I wonder how all of these guys would be handicapped.... Since you seem to know them well maybe you can help....

I would start with Cliff and Jose..... Being toward the top... Efren obviously!!!!!!!!!!!!

How about a tourney style with these players. Two tables, two cameras and you get to view which table you prefer. Just an idea.

Jon

All of those players are pretty close to even with Nic slightly behind them. In a tourny format Nic could win, but in a gambling match playing even, I just don't like him getting there even. I am by no means an expert, but I'd put Efren at the top, followed by cliff, scott, jose, billy palmer, fransisco, gabe , marco, shannon, danny.

That's with no real thought, just blurted it out.

I agree with that.... i'm no 1 pocket handicapper by any means.... I just love to play, watch and learn the game... Especially these young (crazy):) players, that shoot at anything
Maybe we can get the guys at TAR to do something like this...... And the previous mention of a tournament format could be fun as well....

How come no one mentions Larry nevel? Seems to me he would only be an underdog to Efren.

I mentioned above that there are many others.... I didn't mean to leave out any of the great players, just a few listed from the top of my head

i would be interested to know how Larry matches up with these guys.... I have seen Cliff play some pretty sporty 1 hole...
Hard for me to believe that too many ppl would be favorite over him... (except Efren)

I didn't mention larry nevel not because of his abilities, which are great, but this was a TAR 1 pocket gambling matches. And larry is far from a gambler.

Sorry didn't know that? Was just going by what was in the thread that Bobby Pickle could get the eightball from him but had to bet more than a $1000 a set.

If you guys want to see a true list of the best one pocket players listed from best and decending, look at Bill Incardona's (wincardona) post about the best one pocket players.
