Thanks for your stats. Love the new 'package tracking' :)

I was seeing some fuss in the other thread about pattern racking,
but at the end of the match, 2 racks was all Shane could string, and he wasn't shooting bad.

That's why I love what you're doing with pool-trax, you can raw numbers about
almost everything in the match, and you can separate "this is clearly true",
from "this is something I heard some other guy say and I think it's true".

Since you've been receptive to ideas in the past... I was wondering if there's one more stat
you could put up. A lot of people are interested in how many balls players missed in a set.
I know there are 2-ways and questionable ones like "was he really trying to make that?"

But I'm guessing you already track this somehow to come up with the performance rating.
Maybe it could be listed in the row of numbers at the top.
I think from a readability standpoint, it's easier to understand "9 misses out of 150 shots attempted"
or "141/150" vs some of the acronyms there.

CreeDo, I'm glad to hear you enjoy the stats. As far as the "Missed" shots, I actually don't track these, instead a shot would be marked as "No Ball Pocketed". This was an early decision I made for the reason you mentioned of two-way shots and the fact fact that, as a spectator of any shot, we truly don't know what player's intention may have been in any questionable situation. This was the reason I decided to not track safeties, "errors", or "misses" - instead these would all be classified as a "No Ball Pocketed" shot - and track only what can be known with 100% certainty. "NBP" shots are visually represented by the yellow portion of the player's shooting bar graph. The actual number of shots the ended as a "No Ball Pocketed" can be viewed by hovering your mouse over the yellow portion of the graph or by hovering (tapping on some mobile devices/browsers) over the TST (Total Shots Tracked) stat.

I believe this tracking in this matter provides the most effective and accurate stats available - as only factual and proveable stats are recorded. As a believer in being the most critical of my own work, and in an attempt to not have a completely partial POV, I will also say that this sometimes provides info that may be misleading (as in any stats can sometimes be in sports). For example, there was one rack where SVB was running out (either from his own break, or from a dry break by Efren, can't remember) and he plain missed a five ball. Efren came up and plain missed it to in the side pocket. SVB was able to come back to the table and get out, statistical my earning a Cometely Controlled rack - even though one watching the match knows that he didn't truly deserve that one.

Just an example, but I hope this answers your question and explains my reasoning sufficiently. As always, I appreciate your feedback and remind all that we are always looking to improve, so we welcome all feedback and critisims. Thanks.
