Just curious if TAR is able to reveal what their plans are for DCC this year.

Will there be a TAR action room with coverage of the action?

Will it be not televised on ustream, which apparently was the concern at the end of last year, that it was so easy to find... will it just be streamed in different manner?

I'm going pillage, rob and blackmail and try to find a way to make it to DCC for the 1st time, this year.

I would be the guy with a laptop, camcorder, digital camera and Evo 4G, ready to capture glimpses of the action and supply the pool world with live updates.

Sponsers, feel free to pay my expenses to get there and back, and I'll be your roving reporter on the scene:)

TAR team, I look forward to meeting you guys and would do some grunt work for you guys too.

I sure hope TAR is involved again, they provide a fix for the addiction of what DCC is all about..... ACTION!

I wish the guys would consider moving to another area. The time I spent there it was very close and several times I stood on a stack of chairs.

Planning is the key, I would love for them to consider a "pit" where there was spectator seating all around the tables with plenty of room.

SBE has a better gambling area but I really didnt like the "challenge" table format. I prefer to see a simple gambling of most of the games at DCC either one pocket or 9/10 ball.

I was really disappointed that table/room accomindations hasnt improved in the last year over the previous year.

I know what you mean Ken, but I don't know how else they could make it work. The only other place I could see the action room is in the upstairs loft where there are 8 tables, but it might be too loud for the tourney and they would have to shut down action for the HOF dinner. There isn't many places to go there.

My point is there needs to be a change and some improvement made. This is a significiant aspect of the DCC. Doing again in the same location, IMO, is failing to recognize this important element of the DCC.

There are solutions, efforts need to be made. (Does the HOF really need to be so close to the tables?)

I agree. A change would be great, but I don't know if it will happen. While I like the new venue, there is definitely something lacking in the action room. At the Executive West, there were many times the action room was far more interesting than the actual tournament. I stayed in the action room for two days without ever going to the tourney room my first year.

With the exception of a few great matches, the action room at Horseshoe gets the 6 from the Executive. There was a feeling in the air that something was about to happen. I agree that is lost in the new room.

I talked to Greg about this last year, and told him how disappointed everybody was about the claustrophobic action room, and here's what he told me >>>

He said he knows, and he's racked his brain trying to come up with an alternative...but he told me there is no more rooms/area to work with....he then told me that he strongly considered moving the action room to that second floor main room, but ultimately decided that he just couldn't give up that space because, #1... he needed that area/those tables too badly, for the main tournaments, the fatboy tournament, and the H.O.F. festivities, and #2. he was concerned that all of the woofing (i.e. scooter :)) might be too loud, and disrupt the tournament.

I saw action all over DCC last year; upstairs, downstairs and just about everywhere there was a pool table. If two players don't like the crowded conditions in the TAR pit they can go elsewhere to play. And the crowd can follow them. Personally I liked the TAR pit. Enough room for four tables/games to go on and it had the feel of playing in a poolroom. Most of the time if you wanted to see a game, you could find a spot.

The last that I recall hearing, they weren't going to do the (practically) 24 hr free streaming at the DCC anymore. I don't remember exactly what was said but if I'm not mistaken, Justin has a new idea for TAR's DCC coverage and its going to be more restricted for both online viewers and people there in person. This was mentioned not too long after this past DCC so there is a lot of time for the TAR group to change their mind.

I would be very surprised to see the same coverage that we've been seeing the last few years.
