Hi,

Has anyone seen examples of a Tascarella box cue?

Seems like I remember seeing 1 or 2 posted here years ago.

If you owned or played with one..WHAT DID YOU THINK?

I love box cues.

Thanks!

It probably plays the same as a plain jane cue.

What do the inlays matter?
Its aesthetically pleasing to the eye which also matters.

I disagree inlays have alot to do with playability of a cue:
1. Weight
2. Comfort in grip
3. Smooth stroke
A. Are inlays snagging and hanging up on clothing

By the way I never mentioned inlays in my original post, I asked:
1. If anyone has seen or played with a Tascarella box cue
2. Pics if they have them
3. Impressions on playability

Have a great day.And thanks for your input.

If inlays are doing any of what you said to a cue, then you have worked with some awful builders, or some horrible cues.

More importantly though:

How do you think boxes are installed?

inlays have absolutely nothing to do with playability

Does it seem that some posts just get more and more ridiculous? When I first read this, I thought come on . . . then newbie, then bot.

Ya'll do me a favor, if I ever start making such posts, much less defending them, put me out on the porch in the rocking chair, take my computer away, and wipe my chin every few hours.

If you have a cue where the inlays are snagging up on your cloths.

A: Throw that cue in the trash asap

B: go home and throw away those cloths

C: get a new cue

D: learn how dress to play pool

F: good luck

Well box cues have inlays in them, in the shape of boxes. The inlays don't do any measurable to the cue hit feel or "playability", it's like fancy decals on a car or sparkly paint.

Hey SIR,
When I made reference to inlays I referred to the super fancy cues, with the crazy precious stones and other materials as inlays.

I'm not a cuebuilder so I have no idea how box points are installed, versus barbells or traditional points.

So, you have not posted:
1. a pic of any Tascarella box cues
2. Your experience playing with a Tascarella box cue
A. Stated your impression upon hitting with a Tascarella box cue

Only troll comments.

FYI
The 8-10 cues I have are from:
1. Josswest
2. Southwest
3. Tad
4. Judd

Adding a Ginacue, Prewitt and Searing when ever I catch up to those Guys.

In the works are Southwest and Tascarella.

Contrary to your assumption all high quality builders I have worked with.

Some of the very fancy artwork, museum type cues, with all the precious metals, stones and other material must weigh a ton!

So you don't think weight effects playability?

i dont think on a 19 or more ounce cue the weight of the "bling"is significant
it definitely has nothing to do with the "hit"
of course weight and balance is important
but a cuemaker has his pet weight and balance and his cue regardless of the amount of "bling" will still have his pet weight and balance
unless of course the customer requests a certain weight and balance
in that case the customer gets the weigth and balance they asked for
regardless of how much bling in is the cue
jmho

You stated that a box cue plays differently than a non-box cue. Boxes are inlaid.

I have owned plain jane and pointed Tascarellas. I guarantee you wouldn't know which was which of they were covered with tape. Furthermore, you wouldn't know a box cue from another cue.

I'm not trolling, was just trying to understand. You doubled down on balance and quality of the build (inlays snagging on clothing??????)

That explained it to all of us.

Good luck on your quest

Sir,
You are a liar! I asked:
1. If anyone played previously with a Tascarella Box cue?
A. Did anyone have pics?
2. What were their thoughts on playability?

I have never:
1. played with a box cue
2. or even held a box cue
3. seen a box cue in the flesh.

So I could not make the below statement.

"You stated that a box cue plays differently than a non-box cue. Boxes are inlaid."

So, when I get my Tascarella box cue, then I can tell you how it hits and plays.

Also, if I can catch-up with Dennis Searing, Eddie Gutierrez and Ed Prewitt to place orders. I will let you know how their box cues play and hit.

PS
SOUTHWEST doesn't make a box cue. I'm well acquainted with Southwest:
1. Great playing cues
2. Hits like a 1970's George Forman overhand right
3. Quality, craftsmanship is out of this world
4. Great balance and weight
5. Customer Service is top notch
6. Been to the shop in Vegas:
A. a few times
B. Received a tour from Laurie
C. Met Mickey (her nephew I beleive) and all the Guys

Sir, I don't need your wishes of luck. I make and create my own situations of success or failure.
The insincerity is keenly obvious, on your part.

Now back to what the post is all about TASCARELLA BOX CUES!

Your post #7 states that inlaid cues play differently than non-inlaid. This would include boxes and non-boxes, but whatever.
