Hi. For those who have heard or tried, how similar is the balance/hit of a tascarella to a balabushka? Thanks for the info.

I think they hit better...Pete the Cop has access to more knowledge.

I can speak with some confidence on this. Although, this might not hold for every cue, here is my experience.

About 5 years ago, I spent about an hour playing with a 1967 GB cue owned by a friend at a pool hall. I remember the hit of that cue, it was definitely unlike any cue I had played with. The best description I can make is that the feel and the sound was like playing with an unbreakable glass rod, crisp hit, fantastic sound.

2 1/2 years ago, I saw a Tasc bumperless hoppe cue Marcus (FAST_AND_LOOSE) was selling and the specs were perfect for me, heavy shafts, forward balance, 19.2 on the nose. I bought it from him and have been playing with it ever since. I can say for sure that this Tasc is the closest in feel and sound to that GB I played with, and I have played with many cues since.

When I first got it, I called it my "poor man's Balabushka". My buddy Rex corrected me and said, "That cue is not a poor man's anything, dude".

He was right.
