Just my opinion but I always find the appearance of Tascs wirh straight maple to be eye popping. The wood itself is as boring as it gets but it makes the veneers just jump out at you and really enhances the look of other elements. Plus straight maple is arguably a better quality of wood for a cue and playability. George greatly preferred it.

I agree. I also think quilted maple is a great choice being a tonal wood and pretty. I get people like birdseye, but each knot is a potential weakness. Likelihood of an issue is low though.

Considering a new Tascarella. Have had 2 still have 1 of them. It will be a cue mixing elements from both of them. Rings from the straight maple cue, veneers from both actually, butt inlays from the leather wrapped one. Claro Walnut front with ebony or rosewood points. Figured golden wood handle maybe Amboyna or other burl, maybe Olivewood for simpler look, windows in same wood as handle. Pete seems to like the cue concept a lot, just waiting on pricing and for them I think maybe to find the woods.

Not sure about JPs. My guess is Pete himself maybe? All 4 ferrules are ivory.
