Team 9 ball at Amsterdam Billiards NYC

Those hacks are just lucky. Those pocket porn stars...gotta look out for them and that 0.003 lead they've got. I mean a 0.003 lead! That's huge! They are clearly the league favorites.

I think I detected a hint of sarcasm?

The league is great! For anyone who doesn't already play in it, PLEASE DON'T SIGN UP! That damn thing is too crowded already and it's making it harder and harder to win the whole thing!!!!

Unless you're really good and want to play on my team! We're short on reliable players, and I've had to double-up the past two weeks in a row. $16 a night I can handle, but $32 means I'll be eating canned tuna for dinner all weekend.

The Sucios live on! They've been teaming it up since the Corner days. And I've said it before and I'll say it again, if the acronym for WTF is what I think it is, then I can't help but root for the team!

Wendy<---a mouth like a sailor on a good day and like a trucker on a bad day. :o

I love your enthusiasm for the vulgar. :)

Other favoritie names of the league include:

Sofa King Great (say it really fast, you'll get it!)
Pocket Porn Stars
That's some B.S. (I mean, haven't we all felt that way about 9-ball at least a 1,000 times
Duck my Kick - not sailor talk, but still clever.

The beauty of this league is that almost every team is a threat. With the handicap system anyone can win and when the D+ players can run out every game is competitive.

There's also no shortage of players available. There's a lot of people there on league night who aren't on any teams.

Any good Open players I can recruit for next season?

hmmm...i didn't see jonathan smith's name on any current team...and steve lipsky seems to be absent too...and alaska seems to be a free agent...and i think cha's not signed up yet....

maybe not all open level but some possible available players. (damn that would be a strong team)

Don't know who Alaska is but boy would I like to have Lipsky on my team, that guy is a beast!

You need a minimum of 4 people but I recommend you have 5 or 6.

" Alaska" = Sean Morgan. He's an open-level player.

I don't think Lipsky is playing this season. Too bad Thorsten's not around to play...

Alaska is Sean Morgan also known as Indian Sean. He moved to New York from Alaska which is where the name comes from. His Alaskan friends call him Indian Sean. Very good player.

Lipsky isn't playing this season and Thorsten has never played nor shown interest.

Too bad. Thorsten would be an asset to the league.

I love this League. My team, Ruder Still, has been in the League for three years now. We all came from the APA leagues (and most of us still play APA) so the emphasis at first was to drink till 3am with the cute bartenders. Once the angelic Shawn, and the sweetheart Maria moved away, we had to find another reason to play in the League :) But in all seriousness, we really enjoy the wonderful people that play in this League, and the intense competition it brings. And I promise that next year in Vegas, my team will not be playing in underwear :)

He's only been asked about 42 million times. Besides, isn't he living in Florida now? I would imagine the commute would be a bit of a bother.

OMG, I can't believe I missed that. I was expecting it to happen again this year only to find out that your team wasn't going.

Yeah, that was hysterical. The only guy on the team that showed up in pants was sitting in his underwear half the time! I think there's a rule against that now!!!

I personally love team 9 ball at ABC. Amsterdam is the first pool hall that i ever stepped in when I didnt even know how to hold a stick. Everyone was very welcoming and understanding. THere are so many good players and I love the competition. That league is a huge reason for my improvement in the game. No where else I go has that kind of competition. Its great!
