Technical Question - Help Please!!

All I did was pretty much as you mentioned. Connected hdmi from laptop to hdtv and set the tv's input to hdmi. You'll also need an rca audio cable for sound.
Ahhhh...knew that didn't sound right. It was an RGB cable plus rca audio cable.

OK... All good now. I hada tech buddy walk me throught the steps.

My Puter did not recoginze an external display and I had to Force the puter to recognize it. Once i did that a restart did the trick!

thanks for all the help guys :)

I hooked up a few years ago.
Being a techno-idiot, made lots of unwarranted assumptions :D

When I connected, the TV indicated that I had made a computer connection. Picture was all washed out.
Nobody could give me a reason, and I assumed that it was just the quality of the source - youtube.

Time goes by, and I had cause to go looking in my TV manual.
It showed a button for A/V on the remote
I hadn't seen it on my remote and assumed that I didn't have the feature.
It was hidden under a flip-up cover.
Didn't know there was a flip-up cover.
Amazing improvement - HDTV far better than computer monitor.:D
