I've finally severed my friendship with Ted Harris. I have known the guy for 15 years and have been close friends with him for the last 10. I'm just tired of his lies and deceptions: he's is simply a pathological lier.
A customer of his ordered two glorified sneaky Pete's 14 months ago and paid him the full amount of $1,400. To this day, he still hasn't received the cues. Just two months ago, this customer got so frustrated that he finally decided to give Ted a piece of his mind on this forum.
The way the story goes is that initially, the guy gave Ted half of the money as down payment, with the remainder of the balance due upon delivery 4 months from the time of the order. Well, that was around December 2005. A few months ago, Ted talked to the guy and told him that the cues are finally ready (though late already) and that he should go ahead and send him the rest of the money before he can ship him the cues. To this day, the cues have not been delivered.
Back in December, when the frustrated customer was posting about his experiences with Ted on this forum, I decided to intervene on behalf of Ted who's had some rough times as of late. Ted promised me to deliver the cues to the guy sometime between Christmas and New Year. Well, Easter is around the corner, unless of course Ted is planning to deliver the cues in time for Valentine's.
What's even worse is that 10 days ago, Ted told me that the cues are in a box and going out the next morning. He even offered to give me the tracking number. What a conman!!!
Just two days ago, Ted's other close friend (and possibly the only one left) begged Ted to send the guy his cues. After all, he was the one to recommend Ted to the guy. Guess what? Ted blamed the guy for giving him the rest of the money because, supposedly, he loses incentive whenever he gets paid in advance and in full.
I will never ever again recommend Ted Harris's services from here on out. There are plenty of decent and skillful Cuemakers in the DC area and all over the country with plenty of good business sense.
