Tell us what you were thinking Keith.......

when you played the combination on the 9 in the skins game. I saw your other post, wanting to get it over with quick, but if you could give some good advice to up and coming players about that type of situation, what would you say? I ain't knocking you for shooting it Keith, I just think you could help a few people out with the mental aspect of their game. Very few people play as fast and loose as you but everyone has "THE SHOT" in their mind that cost them a match and I'd bet that the main reason is for not taking their time in a crucial situation. You're the pro here Keith, let us hear it. Peace.

Hi, Johnny. I tried to make something happen early when I shot the 2-9 combo. If I had to do it again, I'd probably do the same thing. I usually don't miss very many combos that I have ball in hand for. I could shoot that combination 10 times and make it 8 out of 10.

I wish I would have made it. As it turned out, it was a bad decision on my part. There's times when I make good decisions, and times when I don't.

When you're in the heat of battle, decision-making comes into play. Sometimes I go on my first instinct. I kept looking at 2-9 combo; I looked at the run-out. I looked at the 2-9 again and went for it. To me, it looked too easy.

The most important thing, though, about missing is to not let it get in your head because you need all your faculties to keep moving forward. In that Skins format, quick thinking can sometimes get you in trouble, as it did for me, but I didn't give up hope. Mistakes happen, but you need to move on. Never give up the ship, until it's sunk. ;)

Keith,
I enjoyed watching the game. It sure looks like a player needs to be very offensive-minded when he finally gets to the table. If you had made the combo good things could have happened. Good luck in Derby City.

Some times the easiest shots, are the easiest to miss.

Do you have any advice, on how to stay positive and focused?
