Im going to be spraying termite pesticides in the near future and wanted to get some opinions from the pros. Is it ok / recommended that I spray some on my table? Im particularly worried about the bottom part/ underneath the table where there are wood attachments.

Thank you in advance.

I can't imagine that termites would ever get into your pool table, but you do want to be sure and spray for nits.

termites

I'd put a little chemical on a rag first and try a dab way up on the leg supports beneath the bed where it won't be seen. If it doesn't discolor anything I'd rub a bit more all around the table at that point. Or try rubbing a little on the feet if you have the round ones like a GC II. I'd stay away from getting anything on the wood.

Is this a precautionary thing or do you actually have a termite problem? If your table is in your house and under normal conditions, for instance you haven't decided to decorate your basement with rotten railroad ties you shouldn't have a problem. If your really worried about termites have someone come out and do a termidor treatment around the perimeter of your house. Squirting your furniture / pool table isn't really going to accomplish much.

Thank you for the feedbacks.

Its a precautionary thing because I had termite problems before getting the table and will be spraying the house again and wasnt sure if i should take extra steps to ensure the safety of the table.

I've never heard of pool tables having termite problems either but i didnt want to be the lucky sucker who tells everyone about it.

I wasnt sure before but it seems like I have nothing to worry about.

how did this turn out? I am about to get a table and there is evidence of termites in the past (pellets). We bought the house this past August and the sellers presented evidence that the garage (where I am would be putting the table) was successfully treated for termites. There are still pellets that appear periodically- but I've read that could just be remnants of the previous problem.

I am reluctant to get a reapplication of full termite treatment because that is about $1800

I thought for termites to eat wood that the wood had to be in direct contact with the floor/ground. I would think because of the aluminum/steel feet that you should not have a problem.

If there's wood, termites will find it. Ground termites from below & drywood termites from above.

Termites are like any other creature, they are just looking for cool spot to chill and hang out for a while, and make babies. They like wood, but they also like seclusion, easy access, moisture, darkness, basically out of the way places. You'll also notice they don't typically attack coffee tables. The way to control pests is to avoid giving them favorable conditions to live in, and a pool table is not favorable for termites. Don't sweat it, unless your table is disassembled and stacked up in a dark room somewhere.
