Being a machinist for 15 yrs now ive never had to measure 5 decimal places back
dont know what you even call that lol

- .0003 is about the tightest ive had to hold

That would be millionths. My Browne & Sharpe Indicator was in 50 millionths increments.
Tool Shops stamping .003 -.005 thick material work in very tight punch to die clearances which
require these. Most measurements are done on granite plate with Hight master and Indicator.
