I am trying to create a slideshow in my SIGNATURE LINE.

On another forum I frequent, they can do it. Here are the instructions below. I did exactly that on this forum in my SIGNATURE OPTIONS, but I cannot for the life of me get it to work.

Photobucket Slideshows

I've gotten a lot of requests on why these are not working for people, so I've taken the trouble to create a detailed instruction guide on how to make them work. Please read it from top to bottom before trying it out, and as above, print the guide.

If you wish to create a Photobucket Slide show like the one in my signature, here is how you do it.
You need to have a Photobucket account, with pictures previously uploaded according to the sequence above.
In any of the Photobucket albums you've created, on the top left side, right above your pictures, is a "create slideshow" button. Click that.
It will take you to another screen where all of the contents of that particular folder will be in the top of the window, with a green + sign on them. Click once on the photo, and it will move to the bottom row. Click on all of the photos you would like in your slideshow, and they will all go to the bottom row. You can then re-order by dragging them and dropping them into the sequence that you'd like.
Once you're done with that, click "Save Slideshow" to create the html link so you can put it here.
Next, come back here, and go into your User CP. Click on "edit options", and scroll all the way down to the bottom section, which is titled "Miscellaneous Options".
In that section, ensure that the option selected is "Standard Editor, Extre formatting controls".
Go back to Photobucket. Open your slideshow, and copy the html link.
Take that link, and open Notepad, or Word, or any text editor on your computer.
Paste the link into that blank document.
Once you have the entire html link pasted into the document, delete the text shown below in red.

<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://pic.photobucket.com/album/slideshow/wrapper_logo.gif" style="float:left;border-width: 0;" ></a><a href="http://s172.photobucket.com/albums/w34/ownedbyhunter/?action=view&current=1171724361.pbw" target="_blank"><img src="http://pic.photobucket.com/album/slideshow/wrapper_viewshow.gif" style="float:right;border-width: 0;" ></a><a href="http://photobucket.com/slideshow?action=landing" target="_blank"><img src="http://pic.photobucket.com/album/slideshow/wrapper_getyourown.gif" style="float:right;border-width: 0;" ></a>

Copy the remaining text into your signature block, and click "Preview Signature".

Anybody who can figure this out, PLEASE POST TO THIS THREAD!

What a bummer, I can't get this to work!

certain html code is filtered in this forum. it might work on sites like myspace but not here... they don't allow it.

no swf files or slideshows or flashplayers... the only types you can post are jpgs and gifs. you can actually make a type of slideshow by using a gif file but you have to create it yourself in adobe imageready

more than likely this particular forum does not allow objects. Most of the forums I goto, don't allow it either. Might as well use some sort of exporter tool. So that means u will need to able to save the swd file (Lookup Flash Movie Player) and then export it to a format that can be used here. More than likely gif.

Wow, that sounds logical. I thought I had discovered a cool slide show tool for my sig line. :(

Branpureza is looking for a solution, if one exists. If he finds it, I will be happy! If he can't, I appreciate him and you for taking your time to help! :)

yeah i can do it but only as a gif file... all i need is the original pictures. can't take them from the slideshow unless i do a bunch of screen captures and then edit each one... i'm way too lazy for all that

yeah, it would be annoying if it allowed flash objects. Once u do that, it's anyones game allowing sounds and all that crap.... btw, there was a typo: it's swf and NOT swd. Simply use the proggy to save it locally.

Proggy? I don't know what that is, or an swf/swd. :o

proggy = short term for program.
But yeah the forum administrator needs to implement it for it to work. Either RC3/RC4 (I think). It all depends what forum software he is using. In the versions i use PHPBB, we simply modify the config file like this:

and then do the HTML placement, and viola, now users can do it.

Oh, man, this is so cool. I hope when I click the mouse that it will be here.

BRANPUREZA is 'da man! WOW!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
