I have a Brunswick Anniversery cira 1950's model D-C, ball return, original red pockets, Rosewood rails, came from a priviate home, original Super Speed Cushions and I am the second owner.

The table was installed in my home by Bing Toy (Professional Table installer from the Chicago area) with Simons 760 cloth. He remarked the table was like new, cushions were very good and wouldn't replace them, that was in 1992.

IMO the playability is great, cushions appear fast, what is the best way to test the cushions.

Brunswick Superspeed cushions weren't made at the time your table was built;) but the Monarch cushions were.

See how many times down and back the lenght of the table you can get the cue ball to travel. 5 cushions today is great, that's what the tables respond like after I'm done working on them.

Hi Glen,

Thanks for the reply, I will check this out tomorrow, regarding the cushions, I found a picture of the head rail and the Brunswick marking on the top of the cushion. What does the initial stamp GJ mean, ?

If you are happy with the speed and play with them, then they meet your standards/expectations. I wouldn't be worried about tests, just play and enjoy the table.

shooting a ball with a fairly hard stroke, not a slam, i get about 4 1/4 down and back with fairly straight roll. thats on an older brunswick then yours with rubber about 40 or 50 years old and 760 simonis.. banking balls seem true also. if your satisfied with the play, the roll, and the speed, then why bother. but one thing you can do is when the next cloth replacement is due check the rubber for softness, evenness, flakiness, and that the nose of the rubber is not wavy. other than that thats what i follow. but i am not a mechanic, so i try to listen to what these guys say. gerald
