THIS IS A TEX CUE. HE'S FROM PENNSYLVANIA. LOOK AT THOSE IVORY DIAMONDS AT THE TOP OF EACH POINT. ALL THE WHIT IS IVORY(FERRULE, JOINT, BUTTCAP) LIZARD WRAP. CHECK OUT THE CRAZY RING WORK, THEY HAD TO BE MADE ONE AT A TIME. TALK ABOUT TIME CONSUMING. I JUST THOUGHT YOU GUYS WOULD LIKE THIS ONE. MAYBE COSMO WILL CHIME IN WITH SOME MORE INFO, OR PICTURES OF HIS TEX CUES.

That is a great looking cue. I'm impressed with the ivory tips. I can't recall seeing that before. Thanks for the pics.

It definitely looks like a good way to cover up any glue lines...lol.

It's Interesting How He Did Those Ivory Tops. Cosmo Can Explain It Better Than Me, But It's Not An Inlay. It's Part Of The Point Before The Forearm Is Turned. I Wish I Could Remember How I Was Told That He Did It.

P.s. It Would Be A Good Way To Cover Glue Lines, But Looking At The Rest Of His Work, I Don't Think He Had To Worry About Covering Anything Up. A Guy That Would Take The Time To Make This Rings Is Definetly Fanatical About What He Does.

i believe the points are spliced in like that.. i am not sure how Tex puts the ivory in there though.. but the regular points they go up into like a giant spear head and the veeners go up into that.. its his trademark points..

anyways. from what i heard.. Tex made blanks for some major cue makers a long long time ago.. he started like 25 years ago(give or take).. and stopped for a long time.. i would bet that if he made cues those entire 25 years..he would probably have been just as famous as most of the them..

I CAN'T GET THIS PICS ANY BIGGER THAN THEY ARE BUT THESE ARE SOME MORE EXAMPLES OF THE CUES THAT TEX HAS MADE. HIS STYLE IS CERTAINLY UNIQUE.

Wow.
Marcus these look great.
I like the snakewood cue best.
Importantly, How do they play?

I HAVEN'T HIT BALLS WITH ALL OF THEM, BUT THE ONE I HAVE PLAYS VERY NICE. NICE QUIET HIT, VERY SOLID FEEL, WITH NICE FEEDBACK TO THE BACK HAND.

I'VE RECEIVED SEVERAL QUESTIONS ABOUT THESE CUES.....TEX IS NO LONGER MAKING CUES, AND TO MY KNOWLEDGE DOES NOT PLAN ON MAKING ANYMORE. I WOULD BE WILLING TO PART WITH MINE, AND I MAY BE ABLE TO GET AHOLD OF A FEW MORE. IF INTERESTED E-MAIL ME AT DCBASSGUY@HOTMAIL.COM, OR GIVE ME A CALL 610 751 0608

Any particular reason why he stopped?

I CAN'T ANSWER THIS FOR SURE. I CAN DO SOME MORE RESEARCH AND SEE WHAT I CAN FIND OUT. WITH CUEMAKERS WHO KNOWS WHAT MAKES THEM DO ANYTHING?

Cool cue Marcus, I never thought I would see another one, Russ Espiritu has one that I used to try and get away from him back in the late 80's. There aren't many out there and I would love to pick one up some day. I've only seen the ones with the veneer speartips, so this was a real treat.
