I dont know if he read my post or caught wind of it but after I complained about him using the term "slotting the ball in " he stopped using it, well 2 more times, i watched 90% of the matches, and I'm not taking credit it could be a coincidence but after my thread *****ing and moaning about his style he switched gears and was good, Jay put me on the phone with him at the moment I was making that post, and he talks normal and I liked talking to him nice guy for sure, just as I figured I would. Its probably a coincidence but Thanks Jimmy for using American words for a American event....now go back to Canada and "Slot your balls". ;) :D :D

he did a much better job than I have ever heard him do, I wont take credit for it, thats out of line. but it was a coincidence i make a post and poof he changed his style, he has my respect, off camera I know we would be great friends no matter what.

I agree. I haven't been a big Jimmy Wyche fan previously, but I really enjoyed his commentary during the Open. It's funny, but you really get almost on a personal level with commentators when you're tuned in to them every day for a week, and it was apparent that Jimmy, as well as Danny and Jay, is a really decent guy who knows pool and communicates well. The kind of guy you want to have a beer with. By comparison, B.B. and Shuman should stay out of the booth and just run the tournament (which they do well). Great week for pool lovers!

Scott is great in the booth, he is too busy as tournment director to go in there much but when he does its great. He is the best!!!! Who dosent like him? its impossible not to, I have spoken to him many times since 85 and he is a gentalman I aspire to be like him.

This was the best commentary to date from these guys. They changed their style and it worked. Normally they are diagraming every shot for the viewer telling you exactly whats gonna happen before it happens. So when the guy makes a fantastic shot your like okay, I knew that was gonna happen so big deal. The shot looks basic. They moved away from that this time and told more stories and emphasised alot more of the great shots that we were seeing. Thats what makes it fun and exciting. I don't wanna listen to some guy connect the dots before their connected.

On a side note I did hear Raj Hundal call a match a while ago after he was eliminated from a tourney. I think he was in the booth for the semi's or finals. Man was he good. So personable and honest and he could really tell a great story. They should try and get him more often!!!

you should've heard (seen actually - maybe you did?) Ktown, Tom, Melinda and others on here live streaming from various sources. they did an awsome job feeding results to us needy besterds out here. there was 100 in the chatroom watching every keystroke of Tom last night! although slitely unrelated to you thread, just wanted to have that said.

thanks, it was good fun.

All in all I was totally happy with the online coverage, except for a few nitpicky complaints/constructive criticism...

NO I'm not ragging on these folks, just my review of the webcast.

> Ms Abbink...you did well on the inside pool thing, but when you ask a good question....let the person answer before you comment too quickly. Other than that, great job.

> Danny D...I love you to death man!, but please be more positive, and not so hard on yourself! I don't know how many times you said..."oh no, this is no good, he hit it bad....oh wait, he's perfect!" :D

> Jay...I got nothing to say dude, you were dead nutz the best commentator there by the 6 ball!....PLEASE do what ever you can to get your butt in the booth at every event from now on.

> Mr Wych, great job as usual, but fill us in more on your past as a Pro player, and the fact that you know everyone in the billiard world, and they are staying in your guest room!!:D

BCN...whatever you do....don't EVER turn off the mic's after the matches are over like the last week. I got more interesting stuff during dead air than during the match commentary!...
