The Viking Tour sends a special thank you to one of our supporters.

Lamar who is always at our tour events and who is a regular here on AZ has generously added an additional $500 to our Viking Tour event at the POOL ROOM in Duluth, GA.

Lamar, who has no billiard related companies or monetary interests in this event did this out of the goodness of his heart.

I received this PM from Lamar.

Hey Mike,
I would like to add another $500 to this event, that would make it $2500 added.

Reason:
My oldest, Mike, raced go-kart #2.
My 2nd son, Greg, raced go-kart #5.
In 1983 & 1984, Our Karts #2 & #5 were also shown in the "World of Wheels", car shows in Atlanta; a "AAAA" event, in the show world.
I wish to cut this story short, and just say "I would like to see #2 & #5 in the payout at this event".

February 4-5 at 1pm
"OPEN" Event
$2,500 Added ($1,000 Guaranteed to 1st Place)
$500 of the added monies from this event will go to the players for a second chance tournament on Sunday, Feb 5th. Only the players that didn’t come in the cash from the main, $2,000 added event will qualify to play in this $500 added "Lamar Open" event.

The event is race to 9W/7L, Double Elimination,
Winner Breaks, World Standardized Rules
Entry Fee is a total of $37 + Viking Cue Open 9-Ball Tour Card
Entry Fee Breakdown = $25 to Tourney Prize Fund,
$10 Table Time / Registration Fee and $2 N.U.T.S. Fee
$10 Minimum Player Auction Bid (optional by player)
This event is played on 9' tables
The TD's for the event are Matt & Mike Janis

Mike when you say race to 9W/7L do you mean "race to 9 must win by 2" or do you mean "race to 9 wins or first 7 loses" ?(sorry if this sounds stupid)

Not to speak for him, but 9W/7L would typically mean race to 9 in the winners bracket, race to 7 in the losers.

Lamar is a nice guy, and does love pool.

I'll see you in Atlanta (and probably Greenville as well).

Good show Lamar, saw you last nite at Side Pocket, didn't get a chance to chat you up though. Your boys still Driving in any series, (got a buddy who runs the Skip Barber Race Series). The added money on their cart #'s is way cool...

In an earlier post I stated:

I forgot, Lamar Does have an interest. Well, Kinda.
He always seems to be able to pick the winning players in the Player Auction.

In all of the events at the two POOL ROOMS in GA. Lamar always seems to have the winning players in his stable. He has to be one of the best pool handicappers I have ever met.

Hey Sean,
I will have to cut this story short. Greg is now a hired gun in the Go-Kart racing world. He owns a Tire Prep & Fuel Co. for Karting world & Drag racing world.
Greg competed in the "WKA National Dirt Series"
He is now into the Drag Racing world, and will be running a 5 second, 1/8 Mile Street Shout Out Bike.

Mike dropped out of the Go-Kart World & went to the Drag Racing World. Converted his first car (a 1967 VW Beatle),
Into a street legal "Beatle", no Bottle, VW powered & has to spot the 5.0 mustangs. Mike is also known in this area as a top notch H-D Mech.
