I had the opportunity to spend the afternoon playing pool with Alfie and Bankin' Billy at Alfie's store. His store is incredible. He has items from all over the world. He told stories the whole time we played and showed us pictures of the great players from the past. I loved every minute of it! He is one of the nicest people I have ever met in the pool world. Pool would be in a far better place if there were more people like him. If you read this Alfie, my wife wanted to thank you for the gift. She loves it. I hope we can play again sometime.

Thanks, Air Force Ric

Thanks for the nice words, Ric, but if you really like me why did you and Billy pound on me so hard playing nine-ball...you young eyed, straight shootin' gentleman.
The day you and Billy Banks spent with me playing pool was the most fun I can remember having in a long time...standing up.
Please come again soon. Glad your wife liked her gift.
Keep that stroke. Alfie

Bicycle willie

Hey af ric..........heres u a story about alfie.. Me and jr norris went to a pool trny in 1977 in biloxi, ms. When we got there my old friend... Lefty goff who lives in dothan, ala. Said when u get done with this 9 ball trny in biloxi u can go around on the hustlers circuit through s carolina , n. Carolina, and back west to texas. Every town we came to the pool players we all busted? We couldnt figure it out. .....then about 1986 jr and i were in tucson at clicks with alfie and steve moore. We had just come alfies old rug shop and played 1 pocket on alfies table. We went in clicks and set down and i said.. You ever heard of "bicycle willie" the greatest pool hustler u ever saw? That was alfie, he used to go town to town in his old mtr home when he was young and stop and wrap his cue in newspaper and get on his bicycle and ride to the pool room. They all thought he was some non playing kid. Well when he left he had all the money. Anyway jr and i didnt find out for years later...we were 100 miles behind alfie.. No wonder there was no action. Ask alfie or steve moore when u see them again there in tucson. Anyway thought u would enjoy an old pool story from an old pool champion....sparky

I miss the store in Aspen a few years ago. We had some good times in Japan and Cancun, remember climbing those pyramids? And who could forget the "Japanese Only" adventures.

Hope you're doing great buddy, always nice to hear about you or from you.

I'm going to use this thread as an opportunity to thank Alf for the DVDs he sent me for the riddle a few weeks ago. They are awesome, thanks Alf! By the way, your private messages are full, that's why I wanted to post here!
