for all us azers who love this great sport and have always wanted to see it grow a man named k trudeau comes along to maybe save the sport and give it what it has always needed.the tourn starts and all of us billiard lovers get to watch via the internet all of the great matches and great pool in orlando.we keep checking updates why because we cant wait to see what happens next and then all of a sudden mike janis starts talking about crooked stuff that might be happening down in florida and ruins our thought process so maybe we now might think something funny is going on instead of just letting something good happen in the pool world.if that is going on who cares.pool has had a bad name forever and we want to see that change.let us real pool lovers enjoy it while it lasts.i know that you are a tour director for another tour.are you trying to ruin the best thing that has come along because you couldnt and are jealous.you should be there learning from people that have at least the class to run an organized event.i know nothing about you and i can not judge you the person or your organazation but better words like congrats to the ipt would of sounded better from someone who does not know you.you just couldnt let it be,reminding us that there could be bad going on instead of enjoying the moment.there are going to be open events in the future for all of us even thought you might not pay that entry but it will be there if you chose and you could be part of this great organazation and at least for that moment feel proud of the sport.just enjoy it while it is here because if it ever ends we will be right back to square one.this man mr trudeau will be the savior for all of us billiard lovers.i would really love for mr janis to respond because he is involved in this sport and as a promoter you would think he would love to make changes to make us better, not talk about what we already knew and were hoping what isnt going on.

Before you post to someone it is a good idea to click on their name and read some of their past posts so you learn a little about them. If you had you would know where Mr. Janis stands on the IPT and how silly your post is. As far as his comments they are valid regarding round robin play.

He could also try capital letters, paragraphs and spacing between sentences!

I woke up after taking a nap while listening to Pink Floyd and saw your post. To put it mildly, I was shocked by what you wrote. Please take some time to read over some of my posts and then get back to me. It's about 2:20 am right now and I'm a bit groggy but to sum up my true feelings about the IPT I wrote into a parody of one of my favorite songs.

I substituted a few words which I put in ( ).

verse 1:

Come in here, dear (IPT), have a cigar.
You're gonna go far,
You're gonna fly high,
You're never gonna die,
You're gonna make it if you try;
(We're) gonna love you.
(I will ) always (have) a deep respect,
And I mean that most sincerly.
The (IPT) is just fantastic,
that is really what I think.
Oh by the way, (the IPT player are really in the) Pink?
And did we tell you the name of the game, boy,
We call it Riding the Gravy Train.

verse 2:

We're just knocked out
We heard about the sell out (crowds)
You (got an) (event) out
We're so happy we can hardly count !
Everybody else is just green,
Have you seen the chart ?
It's a helluva start,
(The IPT) could be made into a monster
If we all pull together as a team
And did we tell you the name of the Game, boy
We call it Riding the Gravy Train

Respectfully yours,

Mj

Song: Have A Cigar by Pink Floyd
Album: Wish You Were Here
Date: 1975
Little known fact about this song: The lead vocal is by Folk singer Roy Harper. Roger Waters' voice was shot from recording "Shine On You Crazy Diamond," and David Gilmour did not want to sing this, so they asked their friend Harper, who was recording down the hall, to help them out.

Hey "straight1",
You started your thread body with the following words, "for all us azers", with that statement you are also trying speak for me. You are here by advised you are NOT SPEAKING FOR ME. I consider MJ a friend of mine.
"have a nice day"

I forgot about my manners. ( My Grandma always told me about them.)

Straight1, welcome to the group. I see that you joined us about 2 weeks ago. Could you please give us a little introduction of yourself?

I checked out your profile but there is no information there.

Many people give at least the basic information like:
Your name
Your age
State they live in
Profession
How long you have been playing pool
What type of cue you use

Thanks,

Mj

Mike,
Don't sweat it! Those of us who know you understand what you have done for the game, and know where you are coming from.
I think most of us are pulling for KT and the IPT...as well as the success of all the regional tours like you have been running for years. Having run one myself, I know firsthand what kind of work is involved in bringing this kind of tournament to the players. That someone could even suggest you are jealous of the IPT is pure BS. If KT is successful, we will all see the benefits.

Mike,
I assume the sentiment behind your song was not as sardonic as the Pink Floyd version, correct? :)

I saw Pink Floyd in Birmingham Ala. in 1994. We went to the Talladega 500 Sunday morning and then drove over to Birmingham to see Floyd that night:eek: . Besides the birth of my children, it was truly one of the greatest days of my life;) My favorite song would have to be "Comfortably Numb", it is relative:cool:

SARDONIC : disdainfully or skeptically humorous : derisively mocking :
Scornfully or cynically mocking. Synonym: sarcastic.

"Come in here, dear boy, have a cigar. You're gonna go far, You're gonna fly high, You're never gonna die, You're gonna make it if you try; They're gonna love you. " just makes me sit up straight and feel really good....

I think my sentiment is best described as being elated.

ELATED : Feeling great delight and joy.

I got to see Pink Floyd back in 1987 at the Coliseum in Richfied, Ohio and again at the Cleveland Stadium in 1988. I also saw Roger Water at Blossum Music Center for the Radio Kaos tour in 1987.

I remember the 87 concert the most because at the time of the concert my girlfriend was pregnamant with my son Matt. We made her the designated driver. It was also Matt's 1st concert. After that concert my friends and I rushed the stage and walked off with a set of symbols. My friend Tony still has one of them.

The only memory I have of the 88 concert is the fact that I was there and pigs were flying. Same with the Waters concert but I do remember he opened the show with Welcome To The Machine. My memory is a bit vague from those years mostly because of Syd Barrett syndrome. I'm better now. I think ?

LOL I can totally relate. We drank beer all day during the race and then carried a gallon of crown royal in flasks to the concert.(etc.,etc,etc:cool: ) I remember they opened up with an instrumental, then they flowed right into "Learning to Fly". This huge bomber plane flys over so low is it was as you could almost touch it, and it was going so slow that you thought it was going to fall out of the sky. And the laser lights were so powerful they would just disappear into the sky. The pigs were there, but it was the "Division Bell" tour I saw. I also remember this big ass dancing ball appeared in the middle of the field and started spinning, the lights were reflecting off of the crowd, my friend became so entranced in the lights that he lost his balance and rolled down about 12 rows of stairs. Great Stories.
Thanks for the flashback Mike!;)
