first thanks to Glen, the real king cobra, for giving me Mark Gregory's name and contact. NOW A SPECIAL HUGE THANKS TO A REAL PRO, MARK GREGORY, FOR A SPECTACULAR JOB IN REINVENTING MY TABLE! BELIEVE ME, WHAT YOU SPEND IS WORTH EVERY DIME IF YOU CARE ABOUT PLAYING WELL. Mark turned my table from a dirt track to Daytona.
About a year ago I switched tables and put one in storage and had my Centennial put up. It looked great, pristinely restored rosewood and chrome, but played weird? I had the local company come back to the house, paid for another set up and it still played bad, so I was not playing.
I recently discovered AZ, and in another forum I inquired if anyone knew someone close to Jacksonville who could work on tables. Glen, The real king cobra, gave me Mark Gregory's contact. I called Mark and he was 3 hours away finishing a job over in Tallahassee. He came that night.
As it turns out, there was allot wrong with my table and I got an education. All show and no go. I am obsessive about things being perfect, so I asked Mark to work his magic.
Mark rebuilt the under rails, new Artemis 55 continental rubber, recut the pockets, installed new low profile pockets, knocked out the pins, shimmed, leveled, and BLOCKED the slate, installed a dark, but bright Simonis 860 and seamed over the pocket staples for a smooth finish, put in new counters, and calibrated the rails. while he was working, my friend Leon cleaned the back of the chrome with steel wool and polished all the chrome. I do not think I left anything out, but man it is level and live.
I can not say enough about the job that Mark did. It was allot of hard work and a real education seeing what had to be done. I truly appreciate it,
thanks,
