Tonight I was playing perfectly in a local tourney until I made 1 mistake that cost me the match and sent me home. I was playing perfect position, pocketing balls no problem, didn't miss a shot, until I had a rattler in the pocket. Even on that missed ball I was perfect on the eight. My opponent ran out, like all our 1-2 inning games had been played. In a race to two he got me the first game, I won the second, and was almost out on the third when this happened.
I don't know what else to do when you are playing well, get 1 bad break, and lose the match as a result.
In similar situations in the past, 1 missed ball or a bad leave could mean the entire match with a momentum shift like that. I know these are just mental errors, is there any type of drill or training I can utilize to lessen these errors?
The one tongiht killed me, after making a beautiful full table bank through traffic, straight in on my last ball then the 8, and it rattles!!!!
