Tonight I was playing the ghost in 9 ball. I play where you break and no matter what happens, take ball in hand. If you run out or legally make the 9, you win, otherwise you lose. First set was aweful: 9-2 ghost.
In the second set, I was warmed up and started shooting well. Really well. Oh, I should mention that these are triple shimmed 4 1/4 " pockets. So I get up 8-5 in a race to 9. Then I rattle a ball. 8-6. Then I miss some stupid shot. 8-7. My next break is great. But I get out of line and have to make a huge table length diagonal shot on the 7. I hit it great and get good on the 8. Get nearly perfect on the 9, which is on the side rail....I'm gonna WIN!!!. And I miss the 9 by 6 inches!!!!!! Just a horrible shot. I miss in the next rack and thats all. ghost wins 9-8. I was so made.
It is amazing how well that drill mimics the pressure of real life for me. I'm still glad to get to 8 on those really tight pockets.
Anyway, just wanted to share. I know people were talking about the ghost a while back.
