Three strikes and you're incompetent. ha ha, that's cool.

How does your own LOI relate to your average run length determined by the progressive 9-ball drill?

And how about if you're a rack runner? Do you go to ten balls, etc., to make it a progressive n-ball drill?
We all should have that problem. :)

One suggestion I have for the nine-ball-related drills is to break the balls rather than throw them out on the table since most people need practice the break. Then remove the extra balls for the level you're working on.

Anybody tried this? Come on, fess up. You can improve it on the next try.

I am going to but I had to special order a Bison!

Planning on giving it a go this afternoon when the pool room opens.

Nice home table you have there. Gabriels ?

I will try the Peter drill...and like everyone else, will keep doing it until a get a high enouch score to report without too much embarrassment!

Just a comment on the progressive drills you demonstrated. I like drills...a lot actually but once having run them a couple of times, I switch to a non-progressive version. Here's why.

I suggest that it is easier to make shots in a series that are incrementally more difficult than it is to make the same shots in random order and that, therefore, performing them incrementally gives a false impression of achieved skill.

Ditto, making a series of cuts in the same direction.

So, even though it would require a little more walking, I would perform that drill A) randomly and B) alternating from one side of the table to the other.

I would bet that the typical student would have a different (worse) result that way which might be harmful to the ego but would better simulate actual game play.

Just my $0.02.

Regards,
Jim

PS: When I first read the title of this thread, I had NO idea where you were going with it and it made me VERY nervous!!!
