The Action Pool Tour 2011-2012 Session: Event #11!

Event #11 of the 2011-2012 Action Pool Tour session will be held at beautiful Breakers Sky Lounge in Herndon, VA on the weekend of July 21-22, 2012! Our last event attracted an impressive summertime crowd of 58 players and we are looking forward to another great event!

9-Ball, race to 9/7 (based on size of field)
True double elimination
Alternate break
Rack your own (Magic Ball Racks provided for use)
Played on 9-ft tables
Players must be present before 12:00 noon!
Approx. 1/4 of field paid

Pro (AA) - $90
Semi-pro (A) - $60
Advanced (B) - $50
Novice (C) - $40
Female (non-pro) - $40

1-year: $30 (Yes...that means 12-months!)
1-time: $15

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Referral Bonus
For every new player that you refer, you and the new player will receive $10 off the entry fees! For example, if your entry fee in normally $50 and you bring two new players to the tournament, you will pay just $30 and they will both get $10 off of their entry fees. If you refer 5 friends, you will be playing for free! Parties must sign-in together.

Female Player Incentive
A $75 cash prize will be awarded to highest placing female player if two or more females participate. If two or more females finish in the same round, there will be a playoff for the prize (race to 3).

Progressive Break & Run Contest
No balls were pocketed at the last event so the total purse plus the tickets sold at that event progressively rolls over to this event. The total payout will be $205 per ball! Not bad for $1 per ticket!

Lambros Cues has long been one of the most preferred custom cues on the planet and The Action Pool Tour is honored to have it as a sponsor. With this sponsorship comes two very exciting bonuses for the 2011-2012 session:

Top 10 Points Leader Bonus

Hotel

We used to set up a hotel discount with a nearby hotel for each event. However, we found that the discount that hotels would give us was normally not as good as the discount that you could get online at sites like Hotwire, Travelocity, Expedia, Priceline, etc. Therefore, we no longer do it.

I recommend booking online through one of the above mentioned sites. I was able to book my room at a very nice hotel (Hyatt Place) for only $65 per night. I hope this helps.
 
Ozzy, you count me in for this tournament, unless there is a strange circumstance. Looking forward to playing in this.
 
Tables

One Stroke:

There are 14 tables (if I remember correctly), Brunswick Goldcrowns, Simonis 860 electric blue cloth. The rails and cloth have recently been replaced. I hope this info helps.
 
Update

Sign-ups are coming in fast and this event is shaping up to be a great one!

I am told that our #1 ranked player, Brandon Shuff, will not be at this event due to travel for a major pro tournament. Therefore, will our #2 ranked player, Brian Deska, catch him in the points race? With a wide open field and the points race heating up with only three (3) events left in the session, it's sure to be exciting!

Thanks Oz I have played there several times a few yrs ago , I could not remember what the tables were but I rememberd the cloth and rails so Im glad they got replaced,, other than that its a real nice place lots of room nice bar good food plenty of tv's and its in a shopping center if you want to stroll around while waiting , whats not to love . great place

Is there another address because that address does not go into my GPS. Center st keeps coming up. No Centerville Rd at all comes up.

Here is a screen shot from Google Maps that shows Centreville Road. Perhaps it doesn't come up because it is incorrectly spelled in the original post. It should be Centreville rather than Centerville. Try that change and let me know if that works on your GPS. Thanks for pointing that out and I apologize for the error.

Don't let this event fall off your radar! Indications are that it will be a STRONG turnout event though our #1 ranked player (Brandon Shuff) will not be there!

Ozzy, your flyer states to be there before noon.
Would your event be starting at that time, or will the calcutta force a late start?
I really don't want to rush to be there at noon if game time isn't until 2:00 PM.

I guess I am asking that the calcutta be sped up...:)
 
Start Time

The calcutta is scheduled to start at noon. However, it is normally delayed by 15-20 minutes because of late arrivals. In a bit of total honesty, the goal is to always start by 12:30 so I post a start time of 12:00. If I were to post a start time of 12:30, there would be 15-20 people that show up at 12:45 and we wouldn't get underway until 1:00...just the nature of people.

In short, the calcutta will most likely start at 12:15-12:20. I hope this helps in your planning and it will be great to see you again.

Only 4 days left until the ACTION begins! All indications are that we will have a great turnout for this event.

Also, all of our audio equipment has finally arrived and we are working to have our live commentary up and running! Players are invited to join us on the live commentary when they are not playing! We look forward to seeing you there!

Live Commentary!

Our live stream audio commentary equipment has arrived and everything works great! We will have live commentary at this weekend's Action Pool Tour event at Breakers Sky Lounge in Herndon, VA! Players are invited to guest commentate with us all weekend so come on out!
 
wish i could make this one. damn bar exam! On a bright note my brother will be in attendance, I will be checking the live stream!
