Hi Clyde,
At this point I've probably spent 3 hours on my BSC. I think you are off to a great start. I'll be
looking forward to hearing that BSC has overtaken Angry Birds in the App Store!
The BSC really got my attention when I plotted out a 1 railer in the side and made my first attempt,
then a miss, followed by another success.
My buddy and I are rabid bank pool students so we really like what you've done. I will have to do
some more table testing but my hope is that I can use and rely on this tool as a reference builder
for studying the game.
The first thing I noticed with my 1r-side bank was that the setup has to be exact. So I grabbed some
adhesive doughnuts and made sure that what I was doing was repeatable, including a doughnut on the
rail point of impact.
Before using the BSC I started thinking of all the variables that one could put in to make it more
accurate. Now I think that would be a waste of time as there are lots bigger fish to fry, like
making sure that you are hitting the ball where you aim it, etc. It might be nice to have a few
macro collections like Diamond w/pro-cut, Diamond with rail upgrade, GC regular etc.
What I was noticing in the dry study (no table play yet) was that certain shots like the Z bank
usually plots out on the BSC at 2/3-1/3 for cushions 1 & 2 respectively. Depending on the actual
table we usually figure any where from 1/3 to 1/4 for rail #2. The reason I'm going into this detail
is that I'd like the capability to:
save shots
be able to build solution sets
expand trajectories in at least 1/2 diamond increments from the original plot to see where the
patterns fall apart
Take back "moves" rather than restarting
Make the default position for the restart button farther away from the red button
Have the capability to insert notes ( you're at the DCC and you're about to play Larry Nevel. You've
been watching and noting the idiosyncracies of the main table
Have voice command for toggling small or large views
Be able to adjust the sensitivity of the playfield to touch commands
Have more gray area to navigate on the short side of the table
Ticks on head rail seem dimmer than ticks on side rails, heck, why not make 'em all easier to see all the time
develop a grid system projector that would shine down from your lightbox or fixture
And just to respond to one of your comments, Yes, it is easier and more fun to tackle the technical work
And finally (no offence intended), you really should get somebody to proofread your "sight".
Ok, enough rambling and back to work.
