The best psr

You mad?

Do some more stalking and you can find some videos of my play ;)

I was a 9 before i put in much effort to find a psr. For the most part, chalk, walk into the shot line and then perform warmup strokes to find my placement and fire when ready. The only thing that's consistent in it all is walking into the shot line. 2 warmup strokes or 12.. whatever it takes. Like to keep an athletic type of stance, where the body wants to follow the cue line and the front foot feels like it carries just a little more weight. I could probably find a dozen players in each apa division that have more solid routines and fundamentals than i do. Doesn't mean much imo.

There is this girl that sometimes plays at my regular poolhall. She has beautiful PSR; fundamentals, textbook stance and stroke and can't make 4 balls in a row. Another guy is a hundred ball runner that looks like he started playing 2 weeks ago. Worst stance ever and his warm up strokes are all over the place (until the final one, which is the one that counts).

Judging someones PSR by the appearance is not really productive IMHO. I know personally that my PSR has changed a lot, because I have integrated new stuff into it, and removed stuff that I no longer need. Forcing your PSR to conform to some golden standard is IMHO misguided. The only thing that is absolutely essential IMHO is chalking and walking into the shot. All of the other stuff should be adapted to the individuals needs.

The other meaning of PSR is Personal Shot Routine. YOUR Pre Shot Routine is YOUR Personal Shot Routine. A personal shot routine is that which you do the same on every routine shot. It is was breeds consistency for you.

To that girl in your room, fundamentals and a straight, repeatable stroke are only part of the game. (although a good part) If your eyes aren't correctly over the ball, or you don't know how to aim, you won't make much that you shoot at. A straight stroke is something to strive for, but it is pretty much useless if it is pointed the wrong way.
