i hate to be around conversation when a great player just lost
seems the critic has two,and only two ways to explain this
1) the guy is a dog,can't play under pressure,the big bet,the big stage etc or
2)the guy was dumping,this critic seems to see the fix is in.,This guy is so cynical he can see nothing short of dishonesty
When ever I hear these explanations,I almost always know
that I am listening to an idiot
either that or a guy that never bet a few hundred on himself in a game in his life time
Guys play bad for dozens of reasons,no one is immune to a bad day.
We all dog our brains out from time to time.
I was playing golf with Ed Kelley,possibly the best player ever, ,one day and he
gave me a long talk on this subject,he explained a long list of reasons that he was familiar with that
caused some good players to perform below their average,or terrible, to dog it
He had done it,i had done it,I never knew anyone who ever stepped in the arena who had not done it
Most of the Mosconi Cup Critics seem to me to be guys that I would never bet on, or care for their opinion.
I got a big laugh out of some suggesting
that Dennis Hatch lacked heart,
I am no cardiac expert ,but he is one guy that I always thought had hutzpah
