Bob is shipping sometime next week.......turned out better than I had hoped.......I am enthralled with Bob Owen's cue workmanship skills.
Here's a preview of my design that's almost finished......If you browse the photos in the thread, you're able to see this cue come together.
The wrap needs to be installed and a few coats and then Voila!........The Emergence Will Be Completed and A New Owen Cue Is Born!

This Was Fun......

This design is one that I came up with......I love Ed Prewitt's rings.......but the metal stitch he sometimes uses adds extra weight so to keep the cue weight down,
Bob suggested using ivory stitches. I really like mitred veneers and at the last minute added the Pau Lau between the veneers. I really admire Szamboti designs
and that's why I used the fancy peacock for the points but I didn't want the same in the sleeve......ultimately decided on using opposing fancy arrowheads.

The veneers are just what I thought would look appealing......I really dig Royal Purple as a color, as well as Burgundy/Red. The cue Jerry R. just finished for me
also uses Royal Purple but has a red veneer too.......this design is Royal Purple / Peacock veneers.

This cue's rings use a lot of inlays as each one has 16 ivory stitches (8 on top & 8 on bottom) that sandwich 16 alternating dots & diamonds of Pau Lau abalone
(total of 32 per ring) and there's 5 rings (including the shaft). This was a intricate design to attempt & Bob sure did hit it out of the park.

I've designed two custom cues with Bob and the first one I went a little crazy.....this time the design is elegant.......Bob added my initials on the ivory butt. I really
wanted to use Cortland Linen #12 as the wrap but Mr. Pechauer is guarding his scant supply of #12 so I went with a gray color ultra EE wrap Jazznpool provided.

Great cue Matt. Of all your cues, I like the design of this one the best. Cool ring work and the veneers are perfect. I know it will play great. Bob knows how to make a player.

Bob,

I concur with your opinion......the execution is absolutely flawless & understandably
involved painstakingly detailed work & took Bob awhile to complete this design.

Not surprisingly, I have another design in mind that's more elaborate than this one &
I'd substitute marigold as the final veneer over the ebony points instead of say natural or a white veneer.

Anyway, I won't say any more other than this. Unless the CA courts rule in favor of the current lawsuit against
the new ivory ban, the other design will never see the light of day.......too bad because I think it would have been my best one.

So if I had to have a final cue design made, I am very pleased with how this one turned out.
