I was chatting with a friend today about how players from the same part of the country play similarly. Like the "Chicago" style of 1-pocket, or old school straight pool from New York.

Then I started asking about which top pro learned from who years back, like Mike Sigel Learned/traveled with Lassiter I think or maybe it was Irving Crane?

So, I wanted to build a family tree of sorts showing the lineage of the Pros and who they learned from. Actually the modern game is'nt that old compared to say Golf, so it should be pretty easy to set up. I'm thinking alot of it may point back to New York, or the North East the farther back we go. Anyway, just something fun to play around with.....Gerry

As for pros that were influenced by other pros as they came up through the ranks, I'll try to get you started, focusing on poolplayers that either live or lived in the state of New York.

Before getting started, it needs to be noted that pros have many influences, and my list is not meant to indicate anything more than the pro-to-pro influences I know about:

Mike Sigel was influenced by Irving Crane and Larry Hubbart
Tony Robles was influenced by Ray Martin and George Mikula
George San Souci was influenced by Geroge Mikula and John Ervolino
Jean Balukas was inflenced by Frank McGowan
Jeanette Lee was influenced by Gene Nagy
Dennis Hatch was influenced by Dan DiLiberto
John Ervolino was influenced by Abe Rosen and James Evans
Cisero Murphy was influenced by James Evans

....well, that's a start.
