this is it !!! Can Mika come back? Can Shane break out of his slump and play lights out to close it out? We'll find out shortly.

Day 3 stats are up and can be found at www.oldpoolhall.com/tarupdates

I will upload fresh files, as time permits, thru out the night.

You can purchase the final day at www.theactionreport.com.. Remember the chat is at the ustream site (link is on the TAR page) and the video is the same link you use to buy it. Just click Returning User.

Have fun !!!

updated... although bear in mind.. we had video feed problems for about a hour, so there is no stats for that time frame

Day 3 is going to be very skewed and will directly affect the Totals as well.

beyond TAR's control, so just a fact we have to deal with

Thanks you, again, CaliRed!

I personally really enjoyed your stats!

I am shocked to see that Shane broke and ran almost 25% of the match... That's pretty sporty. I also find it hard to believe that Shane only had 6(!) dry breaks in 100, wow. I would be surprised to see that done in 9-ball!

Your stats also show that Mika failed to take advantage of the make-able misses of Shane's... Although, I must say, it seemed that Shane was getting some of the rolls after the miss.

Would TAR ever think of using the "Corey" 10-ball rules? I wonder how much of a difference this would have made in this match? Any thoughts?

Thanks again Cali!

It is perhaps worth noting that of the breaks that weren't dry, Mika ran out 30% of the time and Shane around 25%. To me, it implies that Shane's superior break made the biggest difference in the final result.

Just shows how important the break shot is in these types of games.

And thanks to CaliRed for these stats from me too! They're excellent.

Corey Deuel, a few years ago hosted and promoted his own 10-ball tournament.

Here is the finals match... (By the way, it's awesome)

He decided to make the rules 10 ball a bit different. You had to call either a shot or safety. If you called a shot and missed, the incoming player has the option of either taking the shot, or passing it back to his opponent. This elements both the two way shot and people get unlucky on bad rolls after their opponent misses. They use it in the some of the Seminole Tour Events as well.

IMHO it makes sense for the pros to play this way.

I think it would put a lot more pressure on the players, in a long set match, because you can't count on a roll after you miss a hard shot.

I know some people do not like the elimination of two way shots, but these guys should either put all their effort into making the ball or playing a really lockdown safety... Trying to pull a twofer and getting neither doesn't help.

Hope this helps, MNB!
