The Four Main Ingredients of Pool = FFFF

It occurred to me this morning while drinking coffee and meditating on my pool game that there are four ingredients in pool and I think I may have the order of importance correct:

Fundamentals
Focus
Feel
Fun

Does this sound plausible or was I in an early morning fog? It really made a lot of sense to me but then again I might not have been fully awake.

IMO focus and feel are what you develop after ingraining some solid fundamentals! You still have to have fun, even when you're learning. That's what we should always finish a serious practice sessions with some fun play. :D

Hey Nell,

Your pretty serious about improving your game. I have noticed this from previous posts.

This is a very interesting site that you may want to visit, read and apply. A lot of reading, probably a couple of days worth.

Please pay attention to the article about throwing the cue with your grip hand. The throwing action is a CONTROLLED throw. Focus more on what you grip hand is doing when throwing the cue. Its all about feel.

I'm not an instructor but I did stay at a Motel 6 last night.

When you meet up with Randy make sure you bring a note pad. Try to take as many notes as you possibly can. Because you wont remember a lot.

Have fun and stay loose.

Thanks, gtj. i appreciate the tips and will take copious notes and I will definitely visit the website you sent but not tonight. Just got in from shooting pool if you can call it that...lost my match...YUCK. I hate losing (I guess everyone does...lol).
