The future of pool?

It is depressing that, in order to make money, you have to target your product to the masses that won't stand for anything challenging. Pins on strings? Nobody cares, bring more alcohol.
The strings on pins thing is perplexing. A bowler wants to throw strikes, they say strings reduces strike frequency, to me that means less fun for the bowlers. Are they intentionally trying to chase bowlers away??

That’s quite the point, they want everyone that’s not bowling to be interested.

Here's a related video that goes back to bowling pin boys. They still had pin boys in the 1950s -- I saw them at a small bowling alley I used to go in to.
