We're so excited! Season 2017 of '14 Days - The Great Pool Experiment' is set to begin June 3rd!
In Tor's words:
"One of the main reasons I created the 14 Days Experiment is that I saw there was a need for a training program that was similar to training programs used in other parts of the world. In China, for example, many young players will spend weeks just working on their stance and performing stroke drills. The students are then gradually exposed to other parts of the game and can't progress until they master each part of the program.
In contrast to that, in America young players are thrown into the game and are told that they only way they can get better is by playing in competition or gambling with better players. In rare cases this will produce a champion player, but the majority of players are saddled with flaws in their fundamentals, lack of understanding of cue ball control, and an inability to read patterns correctly. The 14 Days training takes these players back to the fundamentals of the game - stroke, stance, and alignment which will create a solid foundation to grow their game. Then we move on to the fundamentals of position play- using only center, center low and center high. This forces the player to develop an understanding of the actual physics of cue ball control, primarily how the sliding of the cue ball affects the cue ball's tangent line.
We use ball pocketing drills, half table pattern play and full table pattern play to tighten up the players cue ball control. Finally we move on to working with sidespin using ball pocketing drills and pattern play. By the end of the program the player has a new perspective on pool - along with a better understanding of the dedication and discipline needed to reach their goals.
In this year's 14 Days tour I'll be implementing new techniques into the program which I think will produce some of the best before and after results of any previous season. The training will be tougher than in previous years, but if the participant can manage to make it through the entire program they'll never look at pool the same way again.
We are still going through the hundreds of applications that we've received, so we'll be announcing the full list of participants shortly. But, as we mentioned in an earlier post, Joshua Lammert will be the first participant for Season 2017. His training begins June 3rd.
Please join me in congratulating Joshua and wishing him well on his upcoming journey toward becoming his personal best as a pool player.
End Quote.
