The best tournaments of the year are at Diamonds in Chattanooga.

See you guys there. Hopefully SD won't be playing any "Under the Leg" banks with anyone this time.

That was a funny sight Kev. We will have to get that on the live stream next time. :D

I think everyone had been drinking that night.

No, No, none of us had been drinking. At this tourney we won't be either b/c of all of our New Years' resolutions... yeah right.

Diamonds is always a good time and a great room for spectators and players.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We are looking forward to seeing everyone in the New Year.

Get ready for some AMATEUR POOL at Diamonds the weekend of the 10-11!

I'm sure it will be another great turnout for another great tournament at one of the best pool rooms in the country! The food there is amazing! I'm going to try my best to make it up there. Out of curiousity, how much money is added to this tournament?

If only someone had caught that on tape......... :D

Man I wish I could go. The last time I was in Chattanooga was ............. geeeeeese at least 13 year ago if not more. At that time the Chattanooga Billiard Club (CBC) #2 (on Jordan St. if I recall) was the Nut. I loved the Havana Room therein except for the one-on-one butt spanking I got from Rempe who was there promoting Camel. Phil Windham (owner) was gracious and ran a clean tight ship. Food wise he covered the spectrum -- I had everything from french fries to lobster!

Phil also owned CBC #1 (downtown) which has tons of history. There was a lot of action in that room "back in the day". The pictures on the wall are enough to make you wish you had a time machine. The acoustics are as they were "back then" --- gotta love that "craaaaack" sound.

I've often wondered if Phil was still the owner and if I would ever be able to return. If I do another business trip there I will definitely check out the Diamond Billiard Club -- I don't know if it was even there then!?

Where does the time go? Enough from memory lane.

SD -- You're the man. How you ran stuff and won is beyond me. I hope Marge has recovered (that sucked) and is able to tag along to keep you out of trouble.:)

Thanks for sharing your memories with us. Phil still has 2 rooms in Chattanooga, TN. They are both very nice - with one that is very upscale w/ a cigar room and a barber shop. It is a nice establishment. Phil had a vision and followed through and has made successful rooms out of both.

I appreciate your kind words, I couldn't have won the tourney w/o the help of Marge and the TD Jay Helfert's hard work.

Hope you can get to one of our events soon! Take care, my friend.

Carrie Underwood, Lessons Learned Lyrics

There's some things that I regret,
Some words I wish had gone unsaid,
Some starts,
That had some better endings,
Been some bad times I've been through,
Damage I cannot undo.
Some things,
I wish I could do all all over again,
But it don't really matter,
When life gets that much harder,
It makes you that much stronger,
Oh, some pages turned,
Some bridges burned,
But there were,
Lessons learned.

I wonder if she plays ..... pool that is?

Hopefully one of us can cash this weekend anyway. If not, maybe we can get into a little action anyway.

Shannon always has a tough "amateur" field, but I really enjoy the tournaments.

A little birdie told me that there are some things in the works that may help some of us "pedestrian" amateurs to be a little more competitive. ;)
