I realize that this is not really billiards related, but it is certainly site related.

As many of you know, I run the site in my spare time and have a full time job during the day. After being with that job since day one, the owners have decided to close the doors due to health problems.

I kind of saw this coming and was not completely shocked by it.

It did leave me with a decision. Look for another full time job and continue running the site in my spare time, or try to work things out where I was able to spend more time on the site.

I have decided on the option that leaves me more time for the site. I have a number of things that I want to add to the site, but have been hesitant to do so because of the time I would have to devote to these things. I hope to now be able to accomplish those things.

What does this mean to the average AzBilliards visitor?

Not really much. It just means that I will be able to devote more time to making sure that AzBilliards remains the top site on the net.

It's definately the best site for pool info and I hope everything works out for you.

Hope you make enough money to offset the other job, I do think the opportunities are out there for you. There really are alot of ways to make money involving pool and you have the best start you could want with this site already.

Best of luck to you (but you really don't need it),

Steve Lomako

Mike - the site has always been THE source for the latest and straightest pool news; I know it'll just get better! All best wishes on your new arrangments.

Sorry to hear about the job Mike. But someone who can do this site will never go hungry. Very nice site, congrats!

The downside of this forum is all the personal yapping that turns off potential fixtures to the board. But then again, freedom of speech. There ought to be a code of conduct here. Violators should have their IPs exposed after being warned.

Otherwise, this site is perfect.

More power Mike!

I'm sorry to hear about your other job Mike. I'm sure glad you decided to spend more time on this board though. I started on this board and have tried other forums since and I am happy to report that I haven't found anything that equals the quality of this board. Nothing else even comes close imo. Looking forward to seeing you post more.

I must agree that I have been to or go to all of the billiard sites on the web and this one is by far the BEST. Your infomation is quite up to date and this forum is a good place to get the latest scoop as well. I am not sure how much revenue you can get from a site like this but as you can see from the posts, there are alot of billiard/pool hungry people out there.
Keep up the good work and I wish you much financial success.

Peace,
Joe Koontz

Mike, I’m sorry to hear about your day job.

But if it’s not too painful, you could look at the bright side. It’s the first necessary step to becoming a pro. :D

Mike, may the morning of sucess shine on the evening of your adversity sincerely,

This site is already awesome, the thought that your going to spend more time on it adding more detail is mind boggling, don't know how you do it but keep it up!

Exellent job mike, anything you add will be enjoible I am sure, {take pride in your work} STICK

Thanks for the kind words from everyone. I have a number of additions that I want to make to the site and the forums.

One of the first changes will be more tournaments covered online. This week should be a busy one for example.

Miz's Senior Tour event kicks off tonight (they have 75 players signed up as of 5:00 PM their time), we also plan on brackets for the Viking one pocket event this week and the $5000 added regional championship. We are planning tentatively planning on brackets for the Corpus Christi Classic this weekend.

AZ Billiards is the Best

Mike, sorry to hear about your day job too, but you do a great enough job with this site so that you should make a living doing this. Wouldn't be a bad candidate to head the Pro Billiard Tour once the UPA folds, which it will. Players should not try to run a tour, should be businessman like yourself. Best of luck and please continue to do the GREAT JOB you do for the billiard fans at this site.:p

... maybe you can take your job loss & turn it into a lifelong self made company. Here's my suggestion..

Start your own Billiard Equipment AUCTION, you will get my business & a lot of business from others too. eBay has become a shithouse for good Pool Stuff... you have to wade thru countless auctions of cheap equipment made overseas. With a format of great Custom Cuemakers, great Case makers, good used cues.. you will have to hire someone pretty quick... just an idea fo you Mike
