The IPT failing and a few are optimistic..

I feel turnouts might have been better had the amount of entries been posted ahead of time.

Maybe, but I doubt it.

There were just too many other events going on. And straight pool starts in a couple days.

If they did list the people who enter then it most likely would scare people away. And if they listed how many entered each qualifier then people would just wait until the last minute to sign up at the qualifier with the fewest entries.

It might be interesting if they would highlight the qualifier that has the fewest signups. That might entice some people who are on the fence.

Linda, will you and Mike be the ones challanged?

Jake

If the IPT is successful it is good for the Pro, and Amateur Players. As i feel it will give Pool a more main stream media recognition.

If it fails, well some pro player will be disappointed, and a few will have made some extra money.

Personally I would like to see the IPT make a go of it...

advice to dr.dissent - start looking for a new name to post under soon cause when this is rolling full swing you will be an outcast for trying to bash a system that is promoting a sport that deserves to be recognized and profitable to the man and woman who work so hard to be good at hours a day 7 days a week full time earning minimum wages.dallas west has begun to play again jimmy mataya and who knows who eles that will come out swinging one more time owell just my 50cents

Too many daydreamers......at the current pace, the IPT will not survive, too many factors working against them, specially the man behind the whole "scheme." The reason why they have not secured the sponsorship they thought the tour would receive is Kevin Trudeau. No reputable person or business would want to be associated with him.

The sports deserves recognition, and the players a good paycheck but it just
"ain't going to happen." This tour is doomed, and it won't last another year...

Dr. Dissent dredges this up because he stalks the IPT forum getting in his jabs when he can. If you notice, every thread he has ever started has been to DISS the IPT. His affiliation with the WPA has been apparent from the outset and he is gleefully rubbing his hands together in the hopes the IPT will fail, because they did it better than the WPA ever did, and because KT thumbed his nose at his organization.

Wrong....again....

Wrong again.... No affilliation with the WPA....

No, I have never hoped for the IPT failure, I just knew it would fail by its own means.......this is a repeat story......:)

Linda
I have always thought you were smarter and classier than to be caught publicly defending someone like Kevin Trudeau. These people don't care about you. In the past Mike Sigel has publicly humiliated you for his own entertainment. That alone would have caused me to wake up, smack someone, tell them to take their money and shove it, etc... When you are no longer on the IPT, sadly - that match with Mike Sigel and his post-match comments about you will be your IPT legacy. That pisses me off. Doesnt that piss you off? Is this money worth all of that? I'm puzzled by some of the things you have said and I am your friend. Your loyalty is truly unbelievable and it won't be worth a damn thing after November. Even if you and the other players get your checks, it will prove that KT wins the carrot on the stick game. You have class, and you have brains. Don't allow them to buy that from you at any price.

I know you are my friend, and as such, I think I have made myself clear on my stance on the IPT. I respect your right to form and hold your own opinions, but things are not going to change for me....unless of course there truly is no payment.

What Sigel said is not my legacy. My legacy is that I was an inaugural IPT tour member and I did it with class. Sigel's statements are his own legacy and not my problem.

Fidelity and loyalty are perhaps misplaced to you and many others; however, I see that KT has fulfilled many, many promises and I am willing to wait a week longer and see how this all pans out. Those traits could be my worst ones, but it may also explain why my relationships have lasted 17 and 16+ years. I just don't give up easily. (Of course, I don't take no for an answer easily either! :p ) When I am in, I am in for the count, until convinced otherwise, and that also explains my friendships with others. I will never turn on someone or twist in the wind as other IPTers have done.

The issue is not about money or being 'bought'. Please! Slow pay is different than no pay. I told Kevin that to keep us in the dark is disrespecting us and I believe he has tried harder, as much as he is able to at this time, at this point in the merger, to keep us apprised. If it turns out that there was no Ho deal, etc., then I guess I will be caught with my pants down. But please respect my right to remain loyal, no matter how undeserved in your opinion.

APBU Bans Players

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear WPA Board Members,

For your information, after the WPA meeting, APBU has the following new policy in place effective October 12th, 2005.

Best regards,
Spencer Shiau
APBU General Secretary
APBU - Asian Pocket Billiard Union

Impose/put a ban on a player for a specific period of time:

1. The followings apply to all players in Asia.

2. Player who participates in the tournament/event that is not sanctioned by both APBU and WPA, the player will be banned by the APBU for one year.

3. In the above situation, the ban will be effective from the first day of that tournament and will be for 365 days.

4. During the ban period, the player can not play in the APBU or WPA sanctioned tournament/event.

5. During the ban period, any nomination for this banned player by the national association is not valid. If the banned player is nominated, this nation will be treated as forefeit this quota spot.

6. The banned player's name and country will be made public in the annoucements, including APBU internet info site and notices.

7. Ban by APBU will be also notified to WPA World Pool-billiard Association. WPA and its other continental federations will support and follow through the same ban notice sent from APBU.

If you are not part of the WPA, or at least the APBU, then how did YOU get a letter FOR WPA BOARD MEMBERS, much less have the authority to post it???? I have known who you were ever since your first post! I have seen through your motives and why you are just a helpless IPT basher. You have been caught in a lie and regarding lying, you are calling KT a liar and that is like the pot calling the kettle black.

Don't let all their negative thoughts bother you.
You are doing the right thing.
It seems to me that they are trying to make you and the other players out to be stupid for remaining hopefull.
Of course, they don't actually say "stupid" but they sure imply it.
Hope the pool Gods are with you in Chicago.
Good luck!
