The IPT is a business

Well, lets add up all the qualifier money plus what is owed to the vendors and players right now and figure out wheather it is a scam or not. Besides that, a lot of the above spent that much getting there. I am not goint to argue with you if you wish to defend a pathalogical lier and thief.

I am not defending the man's character.

All I want to say is that after all this time since the tournament in Reno, the IPT is starting to write checks to the players, even at a small percentage, seem to me like it's am attempt to move in the right direction. And I hope that everyone get's paid in full.

And I truely believe if the IPT had no intention of staying in business, or attempting to have another tournament, they would not pay anybody.

No one is forcing anybody to play in a qualifier.

Trudeau may very be all the things you accuse him of being Mr. Purdy. You would have to add that he is absolutely the most ineffictive scammer in the world based on what he has done with the IPT so far.

It seems as though subjective distaste clouds the objective anaylisis of actaul events.

I don't smoke dope regularly, but the few times I have I have always came away with quite a peaceful outlook on the world and my pothead friends all have the same experience to a lesser degree since they do it far more than me. You talk about smoking dope quite a bit, but you seem quite bitter, may I ask what it is that you are smoking and suggest you look for some better stuff. :-)

Until proven otherwise through some sort of credible agency I will continue to believe that the IPT is a business venture and not a scam in any sense of the word. I also believe that the IPT has used very distasteful tactics, has shamefully reneged on it's core promise, and perhaps acted fruadulently in some regards. A scam is something that is premeditated fraud. Please provide us with information as to who has been fraudulently victimized here and how it was premeditated on Trudeau's part. Any proof of such woud surely be welcome to those who are intent on pursuing their winnings in full through legal means. Also, I am sure that there are plenty of goverment attorneys who would love to be able to prosecute Trudeau any way they can. So please be so kind as to provide the proof that brings down this vile (to use your characterization) human being. We woud all like to see a resolution here.

I think it has been proven empirically that the amount of money taken in is nowhere equal to the IPT's expenses to date. Those expenses include marketing, staging, overhead, and of course prize money both, paid and owed. As has been pointed out ad nauseum by many on this forum, some of them CPA's according to their own statements, the IPT so far is a negative cash flow operation. That is a pretty bad scam operation, especially in light of the the microscope they are under.

It's quite amazing the things people thinks are "scams". Trudeau's actions regarding the IPT certainly could fit some definitions while other's woud point out that by those definitions most businesses are scams.

I personally think of a scam as a setup where the mark is seperated from his money and receives nothing of equal value in return but was lured in to the scheme by promises of getting something of equal or greater value in return. IF the IPT ends up not honoring the 100K guarantee and it is proven that they never intended to because they did not have the resources to fund such a guarantee and had no viable prospects of obtaining that funding then one could make the case that the IPT is a scam. To date however it appears as though the IPT is operating under the delusion of it's founder rather than any premeditated and concerted effort to cheat people.

scamming and lying

Of course, some people may have confused the phrasing for what has happened with the IPT.....I agree that the IPT and what KT has done is more of a business failure....however, after all the lying and stalling, people associate that with "scamming".......although I agree that a scam is an action to cheat people out of their money, I think some of the aspects of scamming are prevalent in the IPT fiasco, for the most part, the constant and consistent lying........
