You're traveling through another dimension -- a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's a signpost up ahead: your next stop: the John Schmidt Zone!

You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into... the John Schmidt Zone.

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call "The John Schmidt Zone".

Not bad for a straight pool player. Pretty soon he may need another nickname to go with Mr. 400.

i.e. he has a high run of 400 in straight pool.

I heard that Willie made more than 500 in one sitting until he quit before he miss. What's the standing record for the most made balls in straight pool?

p.s. because i have seen the responses from some people on the board, let me clarify - a new face in the finals of the event, not in pool

I would like to see him add the US Open to his portfolio....either way though it has been a good ending. Broxson showing that he can be a force, Owen showing that he wasn't a fluke, and John showing he still has it going on strong.

A happy night will be when John gives Luat cab fare to the airport to take second prize back to the Philippines!

:D

(Doug - Are you still holding down the stools at Planet 9-Ball? :))

Yes, I'm good at it. I just wish that it were a 'paying' position....

If you guys have that much animosity towards foreign players, why don't you start a writing campaign to close US tours from outsiders and just have your own all-American tour. But please never call any of the tournament as "World Series Championship."
