"The Lumber Yard" - Modern Marvels

I realize that some may have seen this before, since it is from 2005...but I wanted to make mention for anyone who wants to learn more not only about woods, but the exotics so highly sought after, that they catch or pick-up the History Channel's Modern Marvels episode called "the Lumber Yard". It was on earlier today, and may well repeat again this evening.

Not only will it give people a better understanding about how and where their cues' woods may have come from...but just a great overall view about the industry. There is a fairly large segment on those wonderful exotics we have all come to love....like a birdseye padauk that was simply amazing...but they also address the lake salvaged woods as well.

It is a highly recommended 'must-see' if you are a wood freak like myself...or just want to have a better understanding of the various species of exotics available.

Ive seen that episode 10 times.. those buzzsaws are scary though.

I worked with a friend part time in his shop and every time I used his band saw I got chills thinking about my fingers hitting that saw blade. I hated using that saw......
