Which is the best as far as the non triangle racks are concerned? I have a table at home and am ordering some supplys from www.pooldawgs.com and was wondering if anyone had any input.........I see the Tight Rack and Slug Doctor can be semi permanently adhered to table until it is ready for re felt. Any feedback is great because I have no idea which to get or why! Thanks

for 10 ball magic rack.

I have the Delta Rack and bought the Slug Doctor. The Delta racks the balls tight but depending on the cloth the balls will roll out of position. There is also the human error factor of not lining the rack up square each time.

I have brand new Simonis and with the Delta the balls will roll out of position. I now have the reinforcement holes on the table that were placed there using the Slug Doctor and like it better. The reinforcement holes can be easily removed and replaced. I haven't noticed any problem of the reinforcements affecting ball roll.

For the cost involved the Slug Doctor is cheaper and can be used to set up any table you are playing on. You can set up a friends table and the holes will stay and last a long time.

Ideally if you can afford it just buy both, but in the end I would say that once you use the Slug Doctor you wouldn't use any other rack or racking system.

thanks for the replies.....i have used the magic rack and really like it so I am gonna get one for myself..........I am also gonna by the slug doctor and give it a try. How many tables can you use the slug doctor on or how many times can you use it?? (as permanent) Thanks again for all responses

You can use The Slug Doctor on as many tables as desired, As long as you have the correct reinforcment lables... My friend has both the magic rack and slug doctor, I like both but prefer the slug doctor bc I believe its more value for your money!

Do they sell the reinforcement labels seperate also?

A roll of 200 is included with the Slug-Doctor. If you run out, you can get more from me or go to your local office supply store, i.e. Staples.
IIRC, the last time I checked they were priced below $3 at Staples.

Avery 5721 Clear Labels - They're only 0.06mm thick!!
Alternatively, you can also use the white labels.

Best Regards,

I bought the Magic Rack this last weekend and it comes in the mail this week. For $9 for a 9/10-Ball rack that does a better job than $70+ Delta racks, you can't go wrong. Plus it's portable. I was thinking about getting PVC pipe or something of that nature to roll it in/around and to put in my case. I'm sure having it rolled up for an extended amount of time isn't a good solution if you want it to last long.

I will post a review on it when it arrives, if you haven't made a decision by then!
