One of the original "Masked Marvels", a masked pocket billiard player who took on all comers as a promotional & publicity event, was a 2nd uncle of mine by the name Andrew Medve. Many people who knew him called him Andrew Midway as when he said his last name, with his thick Hungarian accent, Medve sounded an awful lot like Midway.

I know Mike Shamos did a story on him several years ago. I was wondering if anyone else out there knew Andrew, or had an interesting story about him. He spent a lot of his Pool career in Norfolk, VA. The burning question in my cousins mind was what kind of cue Andrew used.

There was a lot of them. I think they were sponsored by Coca Cola.I use to play with a guy who was a masked Marvel. I thought he was kidding till he showed me a picture. I don't think they were all world beaters but very good players. They didn't always win I can assume, but put on a good show that people enjoyed.
