I wonder what kind show Barry Hearn will put on this time? How the table and audience set up will be and will he bring on the cheerleaders and walk on models to escort the players with the walk on songs?

It could rival the Crucible for atmosphere.Lets hope the cleaners have swept up in time and the air conditioning problem is solved.

The early odds suggest that the bookies haven't got a clue again.When I looked at the draw I had to laugh at the bookies odds.At the Uk,Ronnie blows kisses into the camera,says I love you,next thing Judd clears up to seal the deal.So have a look at the Masters draw ;

Looks like all bets are off again and just sit back and watch the show.

Atmosphere is one thing but nothing brings the viewers like exciting matches and charismatic players. Barry Hearn really needs to give a wildcard for this event to Alex Pagulayan. Not only is he the most charismatic player in cuesports but I heard he also won the Canadian national snooker champs, beating out several former pros in the process. If anyone reading this has Barry's ear, you need to send him a note with that suggestion.

I must agree with you and at the World Cup snooker I was disappointed to see that Canada and the U.S.A were not represented but some nations had team A and team B.give Barry Hearn some time,he will sort it out.

At the Canadian Championships I took in all the cue ball tournaments on show and was surprised to see Alex Pagulayan in the Snooker.I asked in the chat room what were his chances and they didn't rate him,he is a pool player etc they said,he has to use the rest too much because he is so small,he turned up on the Friday without a Snooker cue etc, enter the tournament and had to go out and buy a brand new cue.

Alex is one of my favourite players to watch so I was hooked and rooted for him.Come on Alex and the last time I said that I was rooting for the one and only Alex 'Hurricane' Higgins.Just win it Alex.

Alex won the Snooker rattling in some centuries and if I recall rightly a top break of 138 along the way.At the pool he lost out, can't win them all.

Alex in the U.S.A pool commentary after a game is sensational to listen to but Barry Hearn can't tell him to switch over,it's up to Alex and the Canadian Snooker authorities to get it on.

Come on Alex.:cool::D:thumbup:

Is this a joke?

No it's not a joke.

Alex 'The Lion' Pagulayan turned up at the Canadian championships and entered all the tournaments. He went out and bought a snooker cue on the Friday, entered the Snooker and played like a superstar knocking in centuries for fun.At the next Snooker World Cup I hope to see team Canada with Alex Pagulayan involved.

If Barry Hearn has a masterplan it must include the top U.S pool players somewhere to create a world wide audience.

Meanwhile somebody somewhere is trying to formulate the perfect cue ball game and sell it to all the cue ball players and the world.

Alex has had an excellent snooker cue for quite a while.
Paul Mottey, the great Pittsburgh cue maker, made it.
The shaft is one of the finest snooker shafts made.
It is 10mm with a carom taper.

He is no stranger to making centuries at snooker and
has beaten some top Canadian players in money matches.

What Alex has going for him is his stroke.
It's a 'piston' stroke just like what Joe Davis liked.
He makes almost no adjustment in his style to play
snooker, other than changing cues.

It is well known that Alex is very capable at snooker, but to ask of him to battle top 16 snooker pros of 2012 without ever actually even playing on a pro circuit? Come on guys, get real. Even middle ranked very experienced snooker pros have virtually zero chance against a top 16 player in a long match.

Alex 'The Lion' Pagulayan is a player that you might pay to see and there are not too many of these kind of players around nowadays.

Yes, you might pay to see him in an exhibition, or a pool vs snooker novelty comp, but to include him in a serious snooker competition, solely with the intent of reaching a new demographic, would see the game descent into pure farce.

What next? Pro-celebrity events with Tiger Woods or Tom cruise?

Farce? I don't think so.
Alex had a 147 shortly after winning the Canadian.
It would have been interesting how he would have done in the IBSF...
..but he and 10 other qualified players couldn't make it by customs in
India...his visa was in order but he has two passports. India is notorious
for entry problems ( probably because of Pakistan problems).

Consider this, Thaiger.
If a match was made 'game-apiece'...snooker and pool ( equivalent
durations for each match) and they had to play till someone won at
both games....who is going to beat him?

About a thousand snooker players nobody's ever even heard of, obviously.
