The Monk

last I know he was kicking off some online pool league that uses a points scale for certain pre determind shots on a deck of cards. I heard it was affiliated with the APA.

No sarcasm. Anyone who reads the article I linked and buys into it, is going to find out at some point in his pool development that there is ONE stroke in pool, and that imagining there are 7 (4 draw strokes and 3 non-draw according to that article) could only hinder you in achieving consistency.

I would judge that he's utterly full of crap.

Your judgement is excellent. A "spin stroke"? LOL.

I'm impressed with the number of people here who see through The Monk's nonsense.

It's Tim Miller. As I said in my response, one of his students was here a while back bragging about he was coming to the US and beat on everybody at 9 ball. Didn't happen. I don't think the Monk reads forums or newsgroups. And, he could defend all he wanted, it wouldn't change anything. I've seen him in person and like I said, nothing new to me.

There is no affialiation between the "league" The Monk is trying to start, and the APA. It is his own league design, with his own membership requirements.

I didn't think so, but that was what I was told so it was all I had to go on.
